In the current context of rapid urbanization in China, the study addresses three major dilemmas in the inheritance and translation of traditional village public space construction methods: the fracture of vernacular construction traditions due to the absence of traditional cultural genes, the fragmentation of spatial cognitive logic due to the absence of systematic cognitive methods, and the chaos of construction in village due to the stripping of design methods and contexts. This study, basin from the perspective of schematic language, integrates the theoretical approaches of architecture, linguistics, psychology, anthropology and other related disciplines to systematically analyze the organization mode and inner generation mechanism of public space in traditional villages in Minjiang River. At the cognitive level, integrate the systemic logic of linguistics and the mental cognition of schema structure to form a composite concept of schema-linguistics in response to the systemic nature and complexity of the research object.Based on the logical coherence of space and language, the core methodology is based on Avram Noam Chomsky’s "transformation-generation" grammar, and a coherent cognitive approach of "space-schema-language" is formed. At the analysis level,we analyze the regional characteristics of public space creation in terms of discourse, syntax and semantics.Firstly,in terms of discourse, typical samples were selected from 354 traditional villages, and through field surveys and mapping, combined with graphical analysis and quantification of morphological features, the type elements of public buildings, public space nodes and streets were analyzed to systematically establish a discourse element map of typical public spaces in traditional villages in the Minjiang River basin.Secondly,in terms of syntax,Chomsky’s syntactic form [∑,F] combines spatial diagram with spatial syntactic analysis, and summarizes the multi-scale nested diagrammatic syntactic structure of public space "single-group-street-whole" through discourse mapping logic. Finally,in terms of semantics, the meaning representation of vernacular space is analyzed in four dimensions: perceptual scale, metaphorical approach, contextual rules and grouping logic by integrating historical documentary reference, semantic rhetoric, anthropological analysis and grouping analysis.By integrating discourse elements, grammatical structures and semantic representations, construct a schematic language system that links the surface formal structure and deep ethical functions of traditional village public space. At the practical level, analyze the way of recursively reconstructing the language generation and system structure of village public space design through grasshopper parametric simulation and case evidence in response to the changes in the current rural context and new demands.Using the schematic language as a path, establish a "big lexicon, small syntax" design model to adapt to the renewal of village public space. The interdisciplinary integration of traditional villages public space research and the integration of knowledge systems have theoretical significance in promoting the local expression of space and the transformation of cognitive logic. The design method based on schematic language has exemplary effect and practical significance for the creation and renewal of rural public space, which is conducive to the sustainable development of villages.
