| The modern era was an important transition period for Beijing’s commercial space from the traditional agricultural and commercial system to the new industrial and commercial capital system, and the commercial space in Beijing’s urban areas showed a complex and unique evolutionary process different from that of the open port cities and inland cities. At present, the modern commercial buildings preserved in the urban area of Beijing continue a relatively complete historical spatial pattern, but the relevant research suffers from the lack of clarity of the overall commercial evolution process, insufficient correlation between the evolution of each level, and the lack of exploration of the evolution mechanism and laws. Therefore,a full analysis of the evolutionary logic and realization path can understand the evolutionary pattern of commercial space from agricultural and commercial culture to industrial and commercial culture, and find the special significance of modern commercial space to urban development. In the context of the new era,the construction of the national cultural center, the inscription of the central axis and the construction of the international consumer center are all closely related to the commercial space in the modern Beijing city, and the study of the evolution of the commercial space in the modern city as a whole can help alleviate the contradiction between the survival and development of the commercial space in the urban renewal, and promote the modern commercial space order that blends the ancient and the modern while continuing the traditional cultural line in Beijing. The paper is divided into three main parts. The first part mainly discusses the research object, background, concept definition, research review, research method and research framework of the article, and also puts forward the core questions of this paper: 1)how the commercial space evolved in Beijing in modern times;2)whether there is some kind of spatial order or combination of elements influencing the development of commercial space in between the characteristics and influencing elements of spatial evolution. The second part focuses on the evolution of commercial space in the "convex" shaped urban area and the city box area of modern Beijing, taking commercial centers, neighborhoods, markets, buildings and some mobile businesses in the urban area as the objects of study, combining the Yuan,Ming and Qing dynasties commercial space literature and historical relics as references, and summarizing the spatial combination patterns of continuity or innovation based on the comparison of spatial characteristics before and after the evolution process. The spatial combination patterns of continuity or innovation are summarized based on the comparison of spatial characteristics before and after the evolution process.Through the perspective of commercial supply and demand and interdisciplinary analysis,we clarify the interaction and evolution of commercial space, natural environment and social humanity, and summarize the characteristics of the evolution of modern commercial space. Then,we extracted 9 spatial genes and 18 characteristic factors using spatial gene theory, and constructed a framework for the evolution of commercial space in modern Beijing from the underlying structure in three dimensions: macro, meso and micro.Through the generative logic of driving force-spatial process-spatial pattern,we investigate the causes of commercial space continuity and evolution, and demonstrate the role of spatial genes in the process of commercial space evolution, which is the chapters 2-6 of this paper. The third part reveals the secularization changes and key factors of commercial space in modern Beijing, explains that the hierarchical evolution of commercial architectural space is an important source for the overall evolution of commercial space in urban areas, introduces the theory of spatial genes to build a framework for the evolution of commercial space in modern Beijing, and summarizes the triple qualities of self-organization,hierarchy,openness and the parallel evolution of commercial space with architecture first, overall differentiation and parallel evolution. The study has,to a certain extent, bridged the gap between the modern commercial space and its To a certain extent, the study makes up for the lack of research on the evolution of commercial space in modern Beijing and expands the scope of application of spatial genetic theory in the field of commercial space. At the same time,it can be seen that different contemporary commercial spaces are still evolving according to the influence of spatial genes in both ephemerality and coevolution, and the theory and method of spatial genes can be used to guide different commercial spaces for innovation and reshaping, which can help solve the problem of Chinese lineage fragmentation and lack of plurality in the process of urban spatial renewal, which is the conclusion of this paper. |
