| At present, China is in the process of high-speed urbanization, it is also facingthe problems of rapid expansion of urban space and the transformation of urbanfunctions. In order to alleviate the pressures of population, land, resource and traffic,the development of rail transit complex is becoming an acceptable and important wayof solving the problems in China. However, as the most active factor of the rail transitcomplex, the commercial space will inevitably have a major impact on thedevelopment of the rail transit complex. Through studying some empirical cases, thisarticle explores the law of development of the rail transit complex’s spatial structureunder the evolution of the commercial activities. And it also describes the principles,main points and means of spatial organization of the rail transit complex, based on thecharacteristics of new space. In the end, this article provides some practicalreferences and theoretical guidance for the construction of rail transit complex inMidwest cities.First, the article describes the research background and significance of thesis,and identifies the concept, regional, and time frame of the study. Then, by using somerelated theories, it analyzes current situation of the function transformation,re-development of urban space, and the development of Rail transit complex inChinese cities. Meanwhile, being coordinated with of the construction of rail transit atdifferent stages and the trend of the commercial formats structure development, thisarticle summarizes the law of development of the rail transit complex by analyzingfour typical cases which are in Shanghai and Guangzhou. From that, the author findthat the phased evolution of the commercial formats are caused by the phasedconstruction of the rail traffic, and both of them are the main factors which affect thedevelopment of the rail transit complex. Finally, under the influence of thecommercial formats, this chapter points that the rail transit complex will express newfeatures, such as multi-functional, large-scale, three-dimensional, etc.After summarizing the context of the new space features, this chapter discussesthe principles, main points and means of spatial organization of the rail transitcomplex. Resulting from the previous section, the article prospects of the rail transitcomplex called Changsha Wuyi square. First, it surveys the developments of theregional site and the current situation of the commercial formats in Changsha Wuyi Square, based on the preceding text. Second, it forecasts the development trend of therail transit complex and points out the problems in the development process. Finally,it gives some measures and suggestions to solve the above problems. |
