Users are demanding more "time-related" interaction design in products because of the fast-paced and efficient life of introducing various Internet-based information terminals into users’ lives and work.Response time delays during interaction(visual,tactile,auditory)can make the user experience less fluid and less productive when using the product,and all these are pressing issues in product interaction design.Therefore,it is important for the improvement of product design quality as well as interaction design theory and practice to help users and designers understand the perceptual patterns of time in products and systems;provide theoretical support for the design activities of related interactive products;exploring interaction design and user experience research based on response time;draw attention to the interaction process in relation to time at the level of experience theory and improve the operational efficiency between user,machine and environment.The study of interaction design and user experience based on response time is of great theoretical and practical significance for improving product design quality.This thesis focuses on response time,a design element of interactive experience design,and explores the interrelationship between response time and human time perception based on theories from design,cognitive psychology,and human factors engineering.Firstly,this paper summarizes the current research results on response time,and user experience based on literature research and case studies,describes the design research related to response time from the human-computer interaction field and extracts the key elements.After that,three aspects are sorted and summarised around response time definition,factors affecting people,and perception factors.Finally,the concept of subjective time perception is obtained through the relevant concepts of time perception and the theoretical model of perception,and two key questions are obtained by analyzing and sorting out its definition and research scope,one the study of the mapping relationship between response time and subjective time perception apples and one for the study on the correlation between subjective time perception and user experience.At the same time,this paper carries out the experimental design by constructing a model of the corresponding research idea and research framework.Secondly,this paper explores the issue of response time research in the design of audiovisual and haptic interactions by using applications related to the haptic Internet as the object of study.Finally,a response time interaction and experience design strategy are proposed based on the experimental findings and experience model.A prototype tool for the responding time evaluation research system is developed and applied in interaction design practice to validate the theoretical model and tool.The main innovations of the thesis are as follows,In terms of design theory,the thesis develops a theoretical model of "response time and subjective time perception mapping" and "subjective time perception and user experience" from theoretical analysis and experimental research,focusing on response time as an essential feature of interaction design.The model forms the impact of response time on people in four dimensions: error,efficiency,adaptability and psychological impact,and constructs relationships between perceptual factors affecting response time in the subjective and objective dimensions of the humancomputer interaction domain,and models the perceptual experience of audiovisual and haptic interactions around their response times.In terms of design methodology,based on the previous theoretical model,a response time interaction design strategy has been initially constructed in the field of interaction and experience design.The strategy consists of three main aspects:theoretical models,design parameters and design methods.Where strategies based on theoretical models are mainly based on theoretical models of temporal perception and experiential models of subjective temporal perception as a theoretical basis;a strategy based on design parameters developed primarily around the findings associated with the experiments in this thesis;the strategy of the design approach focuses on the six aspects of interaction design(product performance,functional design,task design,interaction design,information design and visual design).In terms of design applications,the thesis builds on the previous design theory and design methodology to develop a local experimental platform tool for response time-based design research and a global design research tool,Speed Video.This tool allows experiments on user experience to be carried out quickly and at the appropriate time according to the wireless network,and user experience scores to be obtained and applied in the design of automotive human-computer interaction design system.
