As an important part of Chinese traditional opera,the history of opera stage art is as long as Chinese opera.Like opera art,the stage art of traditional opera also takes "Narration" as an important goal in its expression.Through "Narration",it shows all kinds of life in the world and expresses the author’s thoughts.But in retrospect of the history,the concept of "valuing people over things" always makes the drama stage "empty",which set restrictions to the practical and theoretical development of the opera stage art.This phenomenon lasted until the early Republic of China when the western modern theater model was introduced into China.At that time,the modern Western Theater replaced the traditional "tea garden",and Chinese opera entered the "theater era".The most intuitive change of drama from a kind of "outdoor performance" art to indoor was reflected in the stage art.It is from that time that the narrative methods and ability of drama stage art really entered the period of conscious development.On the one hand,the narrative characteristics of drama stage art are related to the overall aesthetic characteristics of drama art.Chinese opera is mainly composed of "sing opera",with clear melody and obvious rhythms,so it has a strong lyricism.This way of expression also causes the drama stage art to have the characteristics of "lyricism" in the narrative process,and the impressionistic expression often goes beyond the pursuit of realism;On the other hand,the development of individual art is also linked with the overall social and historical background.Therefore,in this paper,in addition to observing the narrative characteristics of drama stage art,it also takes the historical changes of social culture as the research background,and strives to study the important changes in the narrative of drama stage art from a broader dimension.This paper is divided into seven parts.The introduction mainly expounds the significance of the topic,the research history and current situation of the topic,and the research methods used in the article.From a practical point of view,the narrative phenomenon of drama stage art exists objectively.It has an independent artistic system,and it provides important signs,symbols and logical clues for the overall narrative of opera art.It plays an irreplaceable role in the stage performance of traditional Chinese opera.From a theoretical point of view,most of the existing academic research on the drama stage art is a general summary from a historical point of view,and there are relatively few studies on the artistic characteristics of the drama stage art.Therefore,the research on this topic has also actually enhances our understanding of the artistic value of the drama stage art.The first chapter mainly discusses the historical development of drama stage art narration.In the early stage art of drama,there was no clear narrative concept,and the stage could be set up anywhere.The appearance of drama characters were almost the same as those of real characters.However,with the continuous improvement of the opera art and of the aesthetic level of the drama audience,the drama stage art has developed from simply "reproducing" the environment and the appearance of the role to depicting the character and revealing the theme of the drama.Its narrative methods are getting richer and its expression is more active.To study the narrative development of drama stage art,on the one hand,we should see the accumulation and maturity of the narrative concept of opera stage art.On the other hand,we should also see that the narrative development of opera stage art has always been unable to break away from the overall social atmosphere.The progress of concept and technology has motivated the changes to it,as well as new vitality and vigor.The second chapter introduces the narrative time and space of drama stage art.The reason why narrative space-time is listed as a separate chapter is mainly because on the stage of Chinese opera,the transformation of space-time is flexible,which is very different from western drama,and also forms the unique artistic expression of opera space-time.Many western dramatists are amazed at the infinite expressive ability of the Chinese opera stage after seeing the time-space transformation of Chinese opera.There are three types of time and space on the opera stage,which are narrative time and space,story time and space and the psychological time and space of the audience.The time and space of drama stage art is mainly reflected in the display of "story time and space"."Story space-time" and "narrative space-time" are two types of space-time that are closely related and different.The expression of "story space-time" by drama stage art is completed through three parts:stage setting,actor dressing and stage lighting.These three changes have formed the "narrative space-time" in the expression process of drama stage art,which has brought great convenience to opera narration,it also formed the impressionistic style of the narrative expression of drama stage art.The third chapter discusses the narrative function of drama stage art.We have also gone through a long process to understand the narrative function of the stage art of opera.The character modeling and a few end laying props in the Zaju of the Song and Yuan Dynasties were mainly to show the identity and situation of the characters in the story,and the scenery modeling was rare at that time.After the modern Western-style theater model was introduced into China,the drama stage has undergone a substantial reform in the modeling of characters and scenery.The drama stage art has made great strides from the original "display" to"expression".In addition to depicting the environment and shaping characters,the drama stage art has also made attempts in revealing the social background and expressing the narrator’s emotions successfully.The fourth chapter discusses the aesthetic characteristics of stage art.Chinese opera has always been classified as a "lyric tradition".People generally believe that "poetry descends to words,and words descend to drama" from the perspective of source and evolution.They incorporate "drama" into the poetic system,which makes the drama stage art have the characteristics of "poetry" in the process of narration.Different from the "plot supremacy" of Western drama,drama stage art often emphasizes the impressionistic style in the process of expression,and the simple scene arrangement can be switched as you wish in the process of drama narration,which has formed the unique narrative time and space of drama dance beauty,and has also become an important source of the relationship between realism and impressionistic style in drama stage art;On the other hand,as a kind of discourse expression,the drama stage art also presents two different aesthetic styles in the process of narration:the"colorful and gold inlaid" and the "lotus out of the water".On the surface,the colorful and gold inlaid artistic expression has marked the drama dance beauty with "vulgar" symbol.However,through careful analysis,it is found that the artistic pursuits of different operas and trades are also different.Therefore,how to achieve the appreciation by all levels of educated groups has become an important aesthetic goal of the drama dance beauty narrative.The fifth chapter discusses the relationship between stage art narration and performance narration.In short,in the process of opera narration,opera performance is undoubtedly the main driving force to promote the evolution of the story.Therefore,in the narrative expression of opera stage art,performance must be taken as the yardstick.Only with the tacit cooperation of dance beauty and performance,the audience can smoothly perceive the progress of the story.However,as an indispensable existence on the opera stage,the opera stage art also has great initiative.Especially in the context of the contemporary visual culture change,the smoothness of the opera stage art narrative is directly related to the overall narrative effect of the opera.Therefore,in the specific performance practice,the opera stage art needs to pay attention to its own expression,as well as the style and goal of the performance narrative,The positive dialogue and communication between the two must be realized totally.Only in this way can the good narrative effect of the opera art be presented better.The last part of the article mainly discusses the development and changes of drama stage art narration in the context of East-West communication,as well as the inheritance and innovation of drama stage art narration.Fundamentally speaking,these are two aspects of one problem,both of which are ultimately related to the development trend of drama dance beauty.In the process of development,the concept of Western drama and national tradition will inevitably have an impact on the stage art narration.In the long run,skillfully combining the cultural essence of the east and the west,as well as tradition and modernity,will become the goal that the drama narration strive to achieve in the future.
