Study On The Vocabulary From Wooden Slips Of The Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison

The thesis mainly analyzes the vocabulary from 5 groups of the Han Dynasty wooden slips including the Ju Yan Wooden Slips,the New Ju Yan Wooden Slips,the Dun Huang Wooden Slips,the EJi Na Wooden Slips and the Jian Shui Jin Guan Wooden Slips.Certainly,it is based on the comprehensive collation and analysis of the vocabulary from the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.By organizing,there are 6056 words with a frequency of 206949.The paper is mainly divided into five topics.Topic 1 and topic 2,from the perspective of semantic field,mainly study the nouns,verbs,adjectives and quantifiers in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.Nouns are the most frequently used parts of speech in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.Nouns contain many semantic fields.This paper focuses on the semantic field of appellation,official general name,clothing,frontier facilities and weapons.In the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison verbs are the parts of speech second only to nouns.Verbs contain a wide range of words.In the semantic field of verbs in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,the semantic field of official transfer is very characteristic,and the relevant research is often ignored.Therefore,the topic of verbs mainly studies the semantic field of official transfer.There are 36 members in the semantic field of official transfer.It can be divided into five sub semantic fields: conferring official post,promotion transfer,demotion transfer,part-time agency and retirement.Among the members of each sub semantic field,there are similarities and their own characteristics.In the adjective semantic field of the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,the semantic field of color words has its own characteristics compared with other corpus,so the special topic of adjective mainly analyzes the semantic field of color.This paper mainly analyzes the characteristics of the members in the color word semantic field of the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison from the cognitive perspective,and briefly analyzes the skin color recorded in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.People with black skin color,recorded in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,can only be native people of the Han Dynasty,and they can not be foreigners.In the semantic field of quantity words in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,the two semantic fields of measuring vehicle and body organ quantifiers have their own characteristics compared with other corpus.Therefore,the topic of quantifier is mainly focused on the two semantic fields of measuring vehicle and body organ quantifiers.In the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,there are mainly two quantifiers used for vehicles.Both of them can be used for weighing vehicles,but they are different from each other,and their meaning and scope of use are not identical.There are three members in the semantic field of body organ quantity words.This paper mainly analyzes the source of body organ quantifiers,cognitive style and the motivation of its evolution.The third topic mainly studies the place names,names of people,official names.The research of place names mainly includes the statistics of place names,the ownership of the names,the phonetic and word formation characteristics of place names,the Polyphony of place names,the meaning of place names and the research value of place names.The research on person’s name mainly includes five aspects: the meaning of person’s name,its cultural connotation,its polyphony,its characteristics and its research value.The research on the official names mainly focuses on the hierarchy and characteristics of the official names inthe wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.The fourth topic is based on the special study of the Chinese polyphony of the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison.This paper mainly analyzes the polysyllabic words in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison from five aspects: the usage of disyllabic words,the word formation mode and its source,the trend of Polyphony in Han Dynasty,the derivation of Polyphony and the causes of polyphony.The fifth topic,based on the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,makes corrections to The Great Chinese Dictionary from the following five types: Advanceing documentary evidence,supplement to documentary evidence,supplement to word entries,supplement to word senses and revision of interpretation.There are 428 words or phrases talked about concerning advancing documentary evidence,20 words talked about concerning supplement to documentary evidence;107 words or phrases talked about concerning supplement to word entries;88 words or phrases talked about concerning supplement to word senses;9words or phrases talked about concerning revision of interpretation in this paper.And then from the three aspects of generality,accuracy and economy,this paper makes some reflections on the interpretation of large Chinese dictionaries.The achievements and innovations of this paper can be summarized as two points.The first point is to make a comprehensive arrangement of the vocabulary in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison and draw some new conclusions.For example,through the synchronic and diachronic comparison of various statistical data of monosyllabic words and disyllabic words in the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison,we believe that the process of Chinese disyllabic words has begun in the period of garrison in Northwest China,but it is not mature,and the vocabulary system is still dominated by monosyllabic words.Second,we try to analyze and study the vocabulary of the wooden slips of the Han Dynasty Northwest Garrison with various methods and theories.Such as synchronic and diachronic methods,semantic field theory,typology theory,cognitive linguistics theory,sememe analysis theory and so on.The shortcomings of this paper are as follows: the study of words needs to be deepened,the study of semantic field needs to be expanded,and the study of polysyllabic words needs to be further studied.
