| Bamboo slips of Han Dynasty unearthed in Northwest China were discovered early, lasted for a long time and had a large historical span. These slips were multitudinous and a number of research results had been obtained. However,in the existing research on the vocabulary of Bamboo slips of Han Dynasty unearthed in Northwest China, the materials are mostly processed from the unearthed place and the publication, while the differences of time, content and literary form are less considered. Therefore, the pertinence and clarity of the research conclusions have been affected. The main body of these slips is concentrated in the Western Han Dynasty, but some of them are in the Eastern Han Dynasty, especially the official dispatch made of the bamboo and wood slips. There is no systematic vocabulary research in this section,so this study can be carried out. This study uses the latest research results and published materials. The research object is the bamboo slips of the Eastern Han Dynasty with a clear chronology and couplets. This study collected the words exhaustively, described the appearance of these words, and revealed the characteristics of words through comparative analysis. At the same time, this study shows the lexical history value of the research materials through the evolution of vocabulary. The full text is divided into three parts. The introduction explains the reason for the selected topic, and introduces the research materials and objects. Also, this part summarizes the research status, analyzes the research value and interprets the research methods. The main body is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is an overview of vocabulary. The part of this study is based on 486 monosyllabic words and 532 polysyllabic words, which obtained from exhaustive collection and sorting of research materials. It makes a multi-dimensional description and analysis, shows the basic appearance of vocabulary with the brief table in Appendix One.The second chapter is the characteristic of vocabulary. The part of this study compares the research object with Lungheng and the bamboo slips in Changsha, which materials were in the same period. It summarizes the lexical characteristics of the research materials and analyzes the causes from the perspectives of language interior, region and style. The third chapter is the evolution of vocabulary. This part of the study examines 13 new words and 4 new meanings, and discusses the phenomena of isomorphism, inverse morphemes and allotropy in the lexicalization of compound words,in combination with the words "Ji Zuo,Bing Zuo,Jin Jie,Lve De".It shows the value of this study in the history of vocabulary from two aspects:the formation and development of new words and new meanings and the change of the presentation of compound words. The conclusion summarizes the main contents of the full text and analyzes the deficiencies in the study. The study shows that the vocabulary of the research materials presents the following characteristics.First, monosyllabic words are less than polysyllabic words, and the proportion of polysyllabic words increases than before.Second, the distribution of parts of speech of monosyllabic words is balanced, and the distribution of parts of speech of polysyllabic words is concentrated in notional words.Third, the ambiguity of monosyllabic words is common and the univocality of polysyllabic words is basic.Fourth, there are geographical restrictions on the use of words.Fifth, the word formation of compound words is comprehensive.Sixth, juxtaposition and modifier-modified structure account for the most in the word formation of compound words.Seventh, some monosyllabic words can be morphemized. They are highly productive, too. The formation of these characteristics is not only influenced by the trend of lexical polyphony and the development of word formation, but also related to the northwest region and the style of official documents. |
