Research On Chen Chang-qing Literary Creation And Literary Activities In Kinmen

This study comprises two main parts: the first part focuses on the literary works of Chen Chang-Qing,while the second part examines his involvement in literary activities.The first part of the study consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 provides an overview of Chen Chang-Qing’s life and his engagement in the literary world.Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive bibliography of his published works.Chen Chang-Qing’s literary creations are classified into three distinct stages: the "embryonic period," the "growth period," and the "mature period." In Chapter 3,the researcher explores the literary characteristics of Chen Chang-Qing’s works,which encompass realistic,romantic,and Local styles,showcasing a rich literary landscape.These works extensively depict the lives of soldiers and civilians on the battlefield,embody feminist ideologies,and incorporate the native language of southern Fujian,reflecting their communicative attributes.Chapter 4 employs literary categorization to investigate the distinctive features and historical significance of Chen Chang-Qing’s writings.Chapter 5 uses "Collection of Short Stories by Chen Chang-Qing’s " and novel "Sorrowful Songs of Dust" to explain Chen Chang-Qing’s superb skills in writing novels.Accordingly;Chen Chang-Qing’s can be called the "top writer" of Kinmen Local literature,which clearly reflects Chen Chang-Qing’s outstanding achievements in literary creation.The second part of the study explores Chen Chang-Qing’s participation in literary activities.Chapter 6 highlights his role in promoting modern literary publishing by establishing a platform for literary endeavors in Kinmen.In Chapter 7,the researcher examines Chen Chang-Qing’s contributions through various endeavors,such as managing the "Chang-chun Bookstore," curating the "Rui-you Literature Museum," and actively participating in literary affairs,which collectively fostered a robust communication network among literature and art enthusiasts.Finally,In chapter 8,the "Collection of Short Stories by Chen Chang-Qing’s " is translated into Vietnamese,thereby exploring the impact of Kinmen literature in international contexts through the lens of reception theory.By examining these three dimensions,the study sheds light on Chen Chang-Qing’s significant contributions to the development of modern literature in Kinmen.In conclusion,based on Chen Chang-Qing’s substantial contributions to the development of modern literature in Kinmen,he is rightfully recognized as a "Leading Figure of Modern Literature in Kinmen." Furthermore,Chen Chang-Qing’s literary creations possess a distinct regional literary essence,thereby filling a minor gap in the history of modern Chinese literature.
