Ukraine is located in the "crevice" between Russia and the West and is called the "geopolitical axis state" of Eurasia and has repeatedly become the object of drawing over Russia to the West.Due to historical reasons, there are obvious cultural, religious and ethnic differences in Ukraine, which affects the foreign policy tendencies of different ethnic groups.Under the combined effect of international and domestic factors,Ukraine‘s foreign policy after independence has repeatedly swayed between the East and the West, ultimately not only hurting itself but also the world. The "Ukrainian crisis" caused by the sharp turn of Ukrainian foreign policy,on the one side triggered Crimean referendum and joining Russia, and chaos of war in Eastern Ukraine, causing Ukraine to be torn by both internal and external forces;on the other hand, the confrontation between Russia and the West has intensified, and it has had an important impact on the strategic triangle of the United States,Russia and China. The rarity in the decision making of Ukrainian foreign policy adjustment and the laws behind it are an academic issue worthy of study.Ukraine has inherited a large number of aerospace, aviation, shipbuilding and military industries from the Soviet Union, therefore the arms trade and technology import has been the ballast stone of Ukraine-China relations for a long time.China‘s initiative to build the ―Belt and Road‖ has received a positive response from Ukraine. However, the intermittent armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine casts a shadow over future prospects of any Ukraine-China economic and trade relations.Although Ukraine‘s attraction to China in terms of arms and technology has been declining over time, this does not mean that Ukraine is no longer important to China. On the one hand,China‘s position on the Ukrainian issue has become a touchstone of Sino-Russian relations;on the other hand,Ukraine is an important partner that China is not willing to give up easily along the ―Belt and Road‖ Initiative. There is great practical significance to study the past and future of Ukraine-China relations from the perspective of Ukrainian foreign policy adjustment. This article uses neoclassical realism theory to explain Ukrainian foreign policy adjustment and its impact on Ukraine-China relations. This paper considers that Ukraine’s foreign policy adjustment is influenced by both international and domestic factors, also the contrast between the Western and Russia’s overall national strength is an independent variable, the economic situation in Ukraine is a mediator variable, and Ukrainian foreign policy is a dependent variable.Ukraine‘s foreign policy adjustments are facing international difficulties, domestic difficulties and emotional dilemmas. For a long time,it has not been able to find a foreign policy that is satisfactory to all parties at home and abroad.Under a strained triangle relationship of the US-Russia-China,when Ukraine is close to the United States,it will alienate China, when Ukraine is close to Russia,it becomes closer to China. The "cold" and "hot" of political relations between Ukraine and China are affected by the inevitable factors and accidental factors. The general trend of Ukraine-China relations after the Cold War is that Ukraine‘s dependence on China has increased,China‘s dependence on Ukraine has declined, and Ukraine has become more cautious on the Taiwan issue.Ukrainian-Chinese relations have dependency and also independence. The general tendency of Ukraine-China relations after the Cold War is that Ukraine‘s dependence on China has increased and China‘s dependence on Ukraine has declined.
