Chinese agriculture is in the stage of comprehensive evolution from traditional agriculture to market-oriented,industrialized,and scientific and technological modern agriculture.One of the goals of developing modern agriculture is to stimulate farmers’ investment in agricultural production and improve agricultural production efficiency.However,traditional farmers with low-level accumulation,dispersion and part-time operation have a natural weakness in the face of modern agricultural transformation,which in turn leads to low enthusiasm for agricultural production investment and poor performance of agricultural production efficiency.In recent years,the government has issued a series of policies to promote the development and improvement of the service functions of agricultural production organizations,which has provided important support for promoting the improvement of the comprehensive production capacity of the agricultural industry.With the advantages of capital,technology and talents,agricultural production organizations introduce advanced agricultural production technology and management concepts into agricultural production links through the play of agricultural materials procurement,production guidance,agricultural machinery services,processing and sales and other service functions,improves the traditional agricultural production environment,and changes the external conditions of farmers’ agricultural production,thus affecting farmers’ agricultural production investment and agricultural production efficiency.So,what is the logic and the current state of the development of the service function of agricultural production organization? Under the development trend of mechanization and scale of agricultural production,what is the impact of the service function of agricultural production organization on the scale of agricultural machinery investment and the investment structure of “agricultural machinery-labor” of farmers,and what is the mechanism of influence? What is the impact of the service function of agricultural production organization on the scale of land investment of farmers and the investment structure of “agricultural machinery-land”,and what is the mechanism of influence? Further,what is the impact of the service function of agricultural production organization on agricultural production efficiency? The answers to these questions will provide a scientific basis for improving the level of agricultural mechanization operations,promoting moderate-scale agricultural operations,and improving the agricultural production and operation system,which has important theoretical and policy implications.The main research content and conclusions of this thesis are as follows:Study 1: The development and measurement of service functions of agricultural production organizations in ChinaThis part first describes the policy process of the development of agricultural production organization and service function in China,and analyzes the main characteristics of China’s agricultural production service supply based on statistical data.Then,based on the transaction cost theory,analyzes the development logic of agricultural production organization service function under the background of the development and evolution of agricultural production organization.Furtherly,starting from the connotation of agricultural production organization service function,an index system for the service function of agricultural production organizations is constructed,and the development status of the service function of agricultural production organizations in China are analyzed using real research data.The research shows that:(1)Agricultural production organizations build an agricultural industrialization consortium through factor contract cooperation,to provide farmers with a full range of agricultural production services,which is the policy orientation for the development of the service functions of agricultural production organizations in China.(2)The service function of agricultural production organization follows the development logic from a low-level service function under the condition of single service content and unstable interest linkage,to a low-level service function with rich service content and high transaction cost constraints,and then to a high level of service function covering supply and production and marketing.(3)Based on the connotation of the service function of agricultural production organization,this thesis constructs the service function index system of agricultural production organization from the four dimensions(unified procurement,production guidance,agricultural machinery service and processing and sales service).The results of field survey data show that in the above four types of agricultural production services,the service function of agricultural production organization is mainly production guidance and agricultural machinery service.Study 2: The influence of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural machinery investment: scale and structureThis part first theoretically analyzes the impact of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural machinery investment from two aspects:agricultural machinery investment scale and “agricultural machinery-labor” investment structure.Then,based on the survey data of rice-scale farmers in Jiangsu Province,the influence and influence mechanism of agricultural production organization service function on the scale of agricultural machinery investment of farmers are empirically examined,as well as the impact of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ shortterm investment structure(“agricultural machinery-labor” investment structure).Starting from the connotation of the service function of agricultural production organization,the heterogeneity influence of different types of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural machinery investment is examined.The results show that:(1)The service function of agricultural production organization has a significant positive impact on the scale of agricultural machinery investment of farmers,especially the input of agricultural machinery in units of farmers.The service function of agricultural production organization has a more obvious role in promoting the increase of agricultural machinery investment scale of medium-sized farmers.(2)The availability of credit for farmers plays a part of the role of intermediary in the process of agricultural production organization service function affecting the input of land and agricultural machinery in farmer units.And it also plays a full intermediary effect in the process of agricultural production organization service function influencing the value of agricultural machinery purchased by farmers.(3)The service function of agricultural production organization has a significant role in promoting the investment structure of “agricultural machinery-labor ” of farmers.This can encourage farmers to adjust the short-term investment structure of agricultural production and replace high-cost labor input with lowcost agricultural machinery input.(4)The four kinds of agricultural production services all have a significant role in promoting the scale of agricultural machinery investment in farmers,with the greatest impact of unified procurement services.In addition to agricultural machinery services,unified procurement services,production guidance services and processing and sales services can significantly encourage farmers to increase the share of agricultural machinery investment in the “ agricultural machinery-labor” investment structure.Study 3: The influence of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ land investment: scale and structureThis part first analyzes the function of agricultural production organization and service from two aspects: the scale of farmers’ land investment and the investment structure of“agricultural machinery-land”.Based on the survey data of rice-scale growers in Jiangsu Province,the influence and influence mechanism of the service function of agricultural production organization on the scale of farmers’ land investment,as well as the influence of the service function of agricultural production organization on the long-term investment structure of farmers(“ agricultural machinery-land ” investment structure).Furtherly,starting from the connotation of the service function of agricultural production organization,the heterogeneity influence of different types of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ land investment has been examined.The results show that:(1)The service function of agricultural production organization has a significant role in promoting the scale of land investment of farmers.The service function of agricultural production organization has a more obvious role in promoting the scale of land investment of medium-sized farmers.(2)The availability of credit for farmers plays a part of the role of intermediary in the process of influencing the scale of farmers’ land investment by the service function of agricultural production organizations.(3)The service function of agricultural production organization has a non-significant inhibitory effect on the investment structure of farmers’ “agricultural machinery-land”,which encourages farmers to adjust the long-term investment structure of agricultural production and reduces the share of agricultural machinery purchase in the “ agricultural machinery-land ” investment structure of farmers.The results of sample regression show that the service function of agricultural production organization significantly promotes the proportion of agricultural machinery purchase relatively in medium-sized farmers,but significantly promote largescale farmers to relatively increase the share of land investment.(4)The four kinds of agricultural production services all have a significant role in promoting the scale of farmers’ land investment.In addition to the agricultural machinery services of agricultural production organizations that have a significant inhibitory effect on the “agricultural machinery-land”investment structure of farmers,the other three agricultural production services have a significant role in promoting the “agricultural machinery-land” investment structure of farmers.Study 4: The influence of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural production efficiencyThis part first analyzes the impact of the service function of agricultural production organization on agricultural production efficiency from the two aspects of output efficiency and income efficiency.The impact of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ output efficiency and income efficiency has been empirically examined based on the survey data of rice-scale growers in Jiangsu Province.Furtherly,starting from the connotation of agricultural production organization service function,the heterogeneity effect of different types of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural production efficiency is discussed.The results show that:(1)the average output efficiency and income efficiency of farmers are 0.87 and 0.85 respectively,and the role of appropriately increasing the input of physical capital and agricultural machinery is more obvious in improving the efficiency of agricultural production at this stage.(2)The service function of agricultural production organization has a significant role in promoting the output efficiency of farmers,and the results of sample regression show that the service function of agricultural production organization has a more obvious effect on the output efficiency of small-scale farmers.(3)The service function of agricultural production organization has a significant role in promoting the income efficiency of farmers,and the promotion effect of agricultural production organization service function on the income efficiency of farmers is greater than that of farmers.The results of sample regression show that the service function of agricultural production organization has a more obvious role in promoting the income efficiency of medium-sized farmers.(4)The four types of agricultural production services all have a significant role in promoting the output efficiency and income efficiency of farmers,and the impact of the unified procureme nt service of agricultural production organizations is the greatest one.In summary,this thesis believes that the external environment and internal dynamics of the current development of the agricultural industry have undergone tremendous changes.It is difficult for traditional agricultural production methods and low-level accumulation and scattered traditional farmers to cope with the challenges of the transition period of agricultural modernization.The emergence and development of production organizations based on division of labor and cooperation not only has a logical motive that conforms to the development of modern agricultural cooperation,but also an objective trend based on the actual characteristics of the development of agriculture,rural areas,and farmers in China.This thing also meets the inherent needs of China’s three rural areas entering a new stage of development.The service function of agricultural production organization directly improves the constraints faced by traditional agricultural production through the effect of technology introduction,professional division of labor,direct substitution effect and endowment constraint mitigation effect.This method can also improve the external financing ability of farmers,which is conducive to promoting farmers’ participation in land scale operation,expanding the scale of land investment,and improving the level of agricultural mechanization operations,increasing the scale of investment in agricultural machinery,encouraging farmers to adjust and optimize long-term and short-term investment institutions for agricultural production,and promoting the improvement of farmers’ agricultural production efficiency.According to the above research conclusions,this thesis summarizes the proposed policy implications from four aspects: farmers’ agricultural production investment incentives,perfect agricultural production organization service functions,agricultural industry chain construction and rural financial system construction:(1)Completing the content,improving the level service,functions of agricultural production organizations;encouraging the development,standardizing the operation of agricultural production organizations,for perfecting service function agricultural production.(2)Strengthening infrastructure construction,smoothing the land circulation market,broadening the scope of policy subsidies,and stimulating farmers’ enthusiasm for agricultural production investment.(3)Promoting the construction of the entire agricultural industry chain,promoting the development of digital agriculture,and boosting the quality and efficiency of agriculture,transformation and upgrading.(4)Increasing policy support,strengthening cooperation between agricultural production organizations and rural financial institutions;cultivating and expanding the ranks of professional farmers,for constructing a new environment for rural financial development.Based on the perspective of farmers’ agricultural production investment,this thesis analyzes the influence and influence mechanism of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ land investment and agricultural machinery investment from the two aspects of farmers’ agricultural production investment scale and agricultural production investment structure.The impact of agricultural production organization service function on farmers’ agricultural production efficiency has been examined,which has important theoretical and practical value for stimulating farmers’ enthusiasm for agricultural production investment,improving agricultural production efficiency,promoting agricultural production,and increasing farmers’ income,and promoting the realization of the goal of agricultural modernization and development.This thesis puts forward a theoretical analysis framework for the service function of agricultural production organization,farmers’ agricultural production investment and agricultural production efficiency,and conducts empirical tests and analysis,which has certain reference significance for future research on related topics.
