The Construction And Practice Of GIS Services Platform For Basic Geographic Education

The rapid development and application of GIS brings new knowledge, new discoveries and new connotation to geography and basic geography education.. Teaching application of GIS technology has interactive, autonomous, inquiry features. It can train students to discover and solve problems, develop the student's character to the maximum extent. GIS is a more intuitive teaching method which can optimize the classroom, enhance interaction and openness. The using of GIS in the teaching of geography could be an essential breakthrough in the current basic geography teaching reform and development. GIS will realize the value of geographic education. Meanwhile, the rapid development of Internet technology has changed the pattern of the mass information acquisition, knowledge update, resource sharing, has penetrated into people's thinking and activities and has been used more and more common. Categorized image, information and data teaching have brought new vigor and vitality to the teaching reform of basic geography education so that teachers and students can share and enjoy geography knowledge.In basic geography teaching, teachers teach about GIS and teach with GIS. We should fully combine the teaching goal of the new curriculum reform and cultivate students' ability of autonomous learning and inquiry learning.Therefore this paper focus on "the construction and practice of GIS services platform for basic geographic education", puts forward to construct "GIS software platform, courseware platform and web services platform" from the level of the teacher edition and student edition through research and practice, it will be applied to geography teaching through teaching Courseware examples. From comprehensive understanding of GIS knowledge, the practice of the basic functions of GIS operations to the acquisition and sharing, it can ensure that geography knowledge will be taught, mastered, adapted and practiced quickly and effectively. The thesis is composed of seven chapters. Chapter one is introduction, which introduces the background, important significance, relative research and application status both at home and abroad, brings forward problems exists in basic geographic education. Chapter two is theoretical and technological foundation, theoretical foundation includes basic education function of GIS in a constructivist view, GIS achieves geographic value from the standpoint of new geography angle and geography education function. The development of geographic technology in the new information age, the technology of Geoserver, the service structure based on SOA/SCA and low application technology requirements supply the technical guarantees for the construction and practice of GIS services platform. Chapter three proposes the overall objective, structure and function module on the principles of platform design. Chapter four designs the underlying database and the professional database for this platform, realizes construction and organization of the database. Chapter five carries out more detailed explanation for desktop software arcview which plays an important complement function. Chapter six is mainly expounding the development and implementation of this specific platform which involves the design of interface module and the function of the platform. Chapter seven is conclusion and prospect which summarizes the research content and works that has been done and puts forward the further research in the future.
