This analysis and exploration of Hetaoyu 2~#, 5~# and 8~# three main coal seam thickness of layers, depth and stability of existing features. In the point of view of Macro-Quality characteristics, the variations in the gather coal seam of the area were studied, which included analysis of coal, elemental composition and process performance.Regression analysis was used to quantitative research of the correlation between coal quality indicators, in order to explaine many unknown aspects of the main mining level and coal issues in the study area, and provide a basis to determine the different seam of coal mining, processing methods and directions. It can contribute to comprehensive development and utilization of coal and sustainable development of energy.Main coal seam thickness characteristics in study area were that 8~# coal was thickest with the maximum range and followed by 5~# coal and 2~# , with reducing the scope of range. Speaking from the overall distribution, in north-south direction coal-bearing depressions was good, and uplifts were poor. In east-west direction, the in eastern wass better than the western. Anticlinal uplift in Luojiabao and the uplift in southwest corner of the study area of 8# coal were missing. The coal in wings depression of anticline was deposite stable with thickness. The seam of 5~# coal which was greater than 0.8m was mainly distributed in the east of exploration line 4, the local distribution of the southern depression of the west of exploration line 4. And the other regions as river erosion or deposition was not missing. 2# coal which was subjected to erosion of overlying strata, coal in Luojiabao anticline axis and in most parts of the western exploration area was missing. Coal thickness which was greater than 0.8m in the study area was mainly distributed in east of exploration line 6 and area between exploration line 3 and 5.Variations of the main coal seam were that the three main coal layer of volatile, fixed carbon targets were roughly the same, and they were high volatile and low fixed carbon of coal.The ash and sulfur content of 2~# coal were higher than the 5~# and 8~# coal, and was the middle ash and sulfur coal, 5~# and 8~# coal were low ash and sulfur coal. And the heating value of the coal seams were closed to each other, and belonged to the same heat value of coal. They had cross-level and sub-band phenomenon.The relationship between heat and moisture, volatile was small, and relationship between heat and ash was anti-change the linear correlation,when heat was increased, ash was decreased. Heat increases with increasing carbon content, and positive relationship was existed. It was linearly independent with hydrogen content. Carbon content of the main coal seam negatively correlated with volatile matter. carbon content increased with the decrease of volatile matter. The ash are positively related between relative density and apparent relative density. It increases with the increase of ash, but the correlation between relative densityand ash is greater than the apparent relative density.Comprehensive analysis, occurrence of main coal in Hetaoyu was stable, coal quality was high, geological structures were simple, hydrogeological conditions were medium, mining conditions were good. It had a good economic development sense.
