According to the geographic information system(GIS) and the the random field, this paper studied designing the structure and function on the geography information system based on the random field of soil parameter. The study divides below two aspect:First, that the soil parameter has the characteristic of stationary random fields is proved according to calculating its digital feature and testing whether this random fields is a stationary process and whether it is ergodic based on the geographical information of one area in Baoding. So the soil parameter is able to be looked as the stationary random field. The prediction of the soil parameter is discussed in-depth on the basis of studying the correlation distance.Second, the concept and logic of the database was designed by analyzing the object and mission of the GIS, the user's demand and the source of data. After classifying the data and coding, a database including such data types as text, figures and tables was built. The professional module is established by the function of dimensional analysis and assistant decision-making of GIS, so while the useful geological information is managed, soil parameter of the unbuilt areas is predicted using these geological information.Last, given the Reconnaissance-GIS of Baoding for example, the development of the random and the GIS are combined is realized.
