The demand for information by all fields is becoming more and more intensive in information-economic days than ever before. The problem doesn't lie in the scarcity of information, but in the vision to find new information. With the wide application of GIS technology, the spatial characteristic of statistics is being paid more attention gradually. China has successfully completed its fifth census and the second general investigation of basic units. It is urgent to design a statistical GIS software and integrate all kinds of information efficiently. With the integration of multiple sources statistical information based on geo-spatial data, it will make a new way for the analysis of social-economic information and the support of decision-making of government.The article is organized by "spatialization of statistics-analyzing based on space-assistant decision-making analysis". The spatialized statistical information analysis and assistant decision-making based GIS are emphases to study. The main contents involved in the paper are as follows:(1) The limitation of traditional cognition to statistics is pointed out by analyzing the characteristic of traditional statistics, then the paper gives prominence to the spatial feature of statistical information in the vision of GIS. It's very important to research statistical information analysis and assistant decision-making based on GIS.(2) Domestic and overseas application and research progresses in statistical GIS are summarized. The research emphases are affirmed by analyzing the existing limitation. Then in order to construct a GIS software, the paper offers a spatial-location method of general investigations in China, which is based on the summary of several methods of spatialization of statistics and the analysis of the advantages and disadvantage of the methods.(3) A spatial analysis method and level system of statistical information in the GIS environment have been established with the guidance of Large-System Compounding Model technique after reviewing the spatial analysis trend and traditional statistical analysis methods. A series of analysis of spatialization of statistics based on GIS havebeen carried out, and spatial autocorrelation model is emphasized. The model is used to study the increment of GDP per person of each province in China in the periods of 1978-1990 and 1990-2000, and the spatial feature and mutual-effect theory of region economy are disclosed.(4)A framework of assistant decision-making of statistics based on GIS has been designed and an organizing method of multiple sources statistics has been put forward. Underground this organizing method, two models of business meshwork rational distribution and region episteme synthesis capacity are established. At last, the rationality of business meshwork distribution of LandZhou city and influence of episteme capacity to difference of region economy are analyzed and realized.(5) As a demonstration, the Nation Economic and Social Statistical GIS is built. For the first time in China, the system integrates multiple sources statistical information, such as population, science and technology data, base unit data, social data, macro-economic data and so on. A middle database engine is put forward and constructed to realize auto-integration of statistical information. The system is a successful demonstration and is suitable to extend in the whole nation.
