Based on the item of High-tech reseach & development program of China (863 Program) , the type and characteristic of information data of seabed in Shengli oilfield are analyzed and the method and characteristic of database model establishment are introduced. In addition the theory evidence established the base on accessing and using of information data of ocean engineering in Shengli oilfield, and provided the reference to establish an information database of similar engineering.Nowadays, the composite database of digital Shengli oilfield with the purpose for exploring and developing and building has been established, which provides the service for the whole oilfield of Shengli. It carrys out highly automatization in collecting, managing and applying, and incorporate condition is formed of words, figure, image, graph, space model, all kinds of data and so on for depositing. But, the database of digital Shengli oilfield is mostly made up of the database concering the content of exploration and development. The work of database building with engineering geology in the process of exploring and developing is small, and is little to go deep into investigating, especially for the building of database in ocean engineering investigation. Data of ocean engineering geology is especially important for ocean engineering and ocean developing in providing the geology disaster, reducing the cost of structure and construction, the safety of running of engineering items.Building information database of seabed in Shengli oilfield is one subtask of 863 Program. The chief task on building digital seabed of the Bohai oilfield demonstrating region is conducted by the First Institute of Oceanography, SOA. The subtask mostly aims at information data of seabed of exploring and developing oil and natural gas in Shengli oilfield what is affiliated with the sea of Bohai, establishing the composit database of seabed, researching the method and approach of sorts of seabed data for standardization conformity, constructing the management system of seabed information in sea area of Shengli oilfield. Based on GIS, the information management and incorporate drawing with automatization are established. Finally, the resource share and the information service socialization are achieved, and the subtask will provide decision-making information for exploring and managing ocean resource.It needs a great deal of information data of seabed to realize the object of subtask. A great amount of data and information of seabed in Bohai has been collected, which forms are various, therefore, it is difficult in writing for data. So, it is necessary to set up a series of model of database in point, which memories information data of seabed different structures, analyzes the general space, and studies geoscience and compositive estimation. Finally, it provides import reference andinformation service for exploring and developing oil and natural gas and scientific research and management.Firstly, a series of standards should be established to set up the model of database of seabed information. Referring to correlative trade and nation standard, partial international standard or criterion, we have constituted a series of standards such as recommended modus operandi for geological engineering investigation of ocean, work flow and data structure of geological engineering geology investigation and logic structure and provision for full in data of system. Those standards will actualize standardization of database, assure that the data, coding and naming of documents is systemic and exclusive.The design of information database of seabed in Shengli oilfield consists of design of space database, design of property database and design of safety and secrecy etc.The space data mostly deposits in database of the ORACLE which is based on the space data engine.
