With the development of Information and Network Technology, WebGIS became an importent direction of the development of GIS (Geography Information System). Compared to traditional GIS, it has many advantages, it is wildly accessing, independent on platform, it will greatly reduce cost and can be easily updated ect . That is also why GIS has not been used in logistics management system. With the development in WebGIS, there are some problems of projects that based on WebGIS need to be solved such as how to transmit data on network with high speed? How does it response to the request of clients? And so on.First, this thesis introduces the current developing situation of WebGIS technology, characteristics of domestic and international major WebGIS products and its applications in logistic. Then it summarizes the model and method of developing application WebGIS products combining commercial WebGIS platform, namely, using commercial WebGIS platform to fast build the core GIS function of application system. Aiming at some functions which are required by user but absent in commercial WebGIS, it implements extensible function server to fulfill the user requirement which has parallel structure with commercial WebGIS. According to the work principle of commercial WebGIS platform and its second developing interface, this paper combines the extensible function with GIS original function, meets requirement effectively and dependably.Then the thesis designs a logistic WebGIS model, and in terms of application characteristic of logistic business, it designs and implements three common used business application modes: client oriented model, transport tool oriented model and shortest path plan mode, to solve obtainment of user space position, transport tool space position and running trace, shortest path planning of intra-city and inter-city traffic transport.Further more, it implements convenient and lower-cost intercommunication model using mobile phone short message technology. Compared with common used single direction communication model of GPS plus GSM model it provides more services. Based on practical application, it designs a conversion work model which solves the problem of data format incompatible due to different telecommunication providers.
