With the development of Web Services and XML technology, GIS interoperability also has new development. Different with the traditional interoperability methods, GIS functions have been published as web services, this method can not only implement GIS service interoperability on the web very well, but also provide the foundation of integration of services, especially for GIS service chain composition. The registration of services is the base of dynamic integration of services, although OGC gives a catalog service , the service is mainly used in the geographic domain, for expanding the implementation of spatial information services, this paper gives a new method for spatial information services registering with UDDLThe description of services by UDDI is not sufficient for registration and finding of spatial information services, so in this paper, the main research is to improve the description of services by UDDI, to fulfill the need of spatial information services registration and quickly finding. The main content includes:(1) First this paper introduces the description method of services by OGC, mainly including three segments: service provider service identification , operation metadata. Spatial information service can be divided into two kinds i.e. services relevant with spatial data and services not relevant with spatial data, this paper takes WFS GetCapabilities XML and CSW service as examples, and describes how to increasing the spatial data metadata into services metadata in OGC description.(2) Second this paper introduces UDDI data structure i.e. businessEntity, service, bindingTemplate, tModel, publisher Assertion, and describes how to preserve services metadata with businessEntity, service, bindingTemplate, tModel.(3) Third this paper Compares the descriptions of services by OGC and UDDI, and analysis the difference between them .(4) Fourth this paper gives 3 methods of adding spatial information services metadata into UDDI especially services relevant with spatial data.a) adding spatial information services classification. Based on the analysis of spatial information services classification of ISO and OGC, this paper gives a new classification of the experimental GIS services.b) adding description of spatial data by classification and description.c) improving WSDL file, by adding the description of service operationparameters. (5) Finally, this paper established experimentation to proving the feasibility ofthose methods.
