3D Visualization Of Pipeline Based On OpenGL

With the development of GIS technology and computer graphics, constructing 3D model and visualization is the hotspot of current internal and abroad. As the economic center of society, city is the important field in GIS application. And the research on cyber-city have become the trend in GIS research and also achieved a lot. Pipeline is the foundation for city to exist and develop and which is the vital constituent part of cyber-city. The research on 3D visualization and spatial analysis of building pipeline is very important to city construction, city planning etc.The paper is focus on constructing and visualizing pipeline model and terrain model. Based on previous works, a software is made with VC++ language and OpenGL graphical library. And several tasks are finished as followed.The modeling and visualization of digital city are disserted, the terrain is modeled with DEM of TIN and GRID /The building is modeled with the Oriented-Object 3D data model .This paper disserts tools of visualization with OpenGL, DirectX, VRML, Java3D.The map texture technology, LOD algorithm, dynamic multi-differentiating texture technology are benefit to the construction of 3D GIS and the speed of roaming and effective visualization . 3D pipeline model is constructed and the method of calculation in it is introduced which conduce to 3Dpipeline to connect with no aperture and distortion.
