| Nowadays the theory of Mobile GIS has become more mature than before and the application of it has been unceasingly promoted. The technology of Mobile GIS has been one of the most important methods of GIS space data collection.This paper mainly does research on the application on Mobile GIS for space data collection, especially for the urban municipal equipments data collection, economical general survey, census and so on. The technology of Mobile GIS is suitable for the applications in which the quantity of objects of data collection is big and the distributing is disperse. At present, the mobile terminal lacks enough expressions, and the reusability of Mobile GIS is low. Accordingly, the concrete work of this paper mainly includes the following aspects:1, The general expression of the space data in the mobile terminal is discussed through the geometry data expression and the attribute data expression. The geometry data expression is expatiated through logical expression, physical expression and realization. The attribute data is expatiated through the file format definition and parsing.2, Space data collection system based on Mobile GIS is designed and realized for municipal equipments census. The dynamically generating of WinCE formsfor attribute data collection has been realized.
