On the basis of Embedded GIS System, Mobile GIS integrates the advanced global positioning technology, GIS technology, mobile communication technology, wireless internet technology to expand the field of application of GIS services to enhance GIS spatial information collection, management and analysis capabilities integrated application technology. With the rapid development of technology, mobile GIS plays more and more important roles in fields of land survey, urban planning, tourism, transportation, public services, disaster prevention and mitigation, water conservancy construction, public facilities inspection etc.Most of all current mobile GIS systems are stand-alone terminals without interactions of GIS server and difficult to co-ordinate. Based on the current statues of mobile GIS, this paper focused on the application of geographic data collection that combined with geographic information systems and mobile communication technology. This approach offers an integrated solution that including data processing, acquisition, management. The main contents include:I,Analysis the current research situation of the mobile GIS home and abroad. Then introduced geographic information systems, mobile positioning technology, embedded technology, wireless communication technology and other related theories.II,Basis of the project experience, the demand on the system carried out in-depth analysis. On this basis, we made the system further study, determined the system's programming, completed a system architecture design, system detailed design and system environmental design etc.III,In order to resolve issues of the current field data collection processes, the paper have introduced a new programme that data processing, publishing, collection, transmission. The design of system accord the new process, and through ArcGIS Server to verify the feasibility of new process.IV,Realization of system need combine actual situation, this article realized the mobile system by adopted C #. NET platform for the development, based on Windows Mobile development technologies as well as ArcGIS Server Mobile software development kit. Then I succeed to verify the system by collecting navigation data.V,To research results and problems in a summary of the follow-up research priorities andprospects were analyzed.
