The water conservancy modernization needs hydrological modernization. Prompt and accurate hydrology information gathering and analysis is the foundation of water conservation works. Although, hydrologic data is playing a very important role in water conservancy industry, there have the comparatively obvious gap in the field of hydrology data transmission between our country and the developed countries,especially, the gap are bigger in western region of China, where economical development falls behind , and talented person is shortage. Looking for one kind of hydrology data transmission system with these advantages of economy and speediness and with stable and reliable properties is the emergent job of hydrology information acquisition in western region. The thesis has carried out the software and hardware design of hydrology data transmission system based on 51 MCU and GPRS,the TCP/IP protocol and PPP software written in the MCU,has realized the function of transferring hydrology information based on GPRS,and has given out the GPRS hydrology information collection system scheme with these virtues such as simpleness in hardware design, economy in invest, and convenience in operation and maintenance. This is the stronger technological support on accumulating plentiful and detailed hydrologic data to the western region of China. The main researches and its conclusions as follows:(1)Proposed one kind of system plan that realize the function of collecting and processing the data of hydrology information based on GPRS and 51 MCU.Compares with present popular MCU+GPRS DTU plan, this program has the characteristics of system structure to be simple, facilitate maintenance and use. The terminal system does not need the computer support, connects the GPRS network automatically after starting,it is favor to the unattended hydrologic site.(2)Proposed hardware design thought, the hardware resources, the system function grafts. The hardware system is only responsible to gather the pulse signal of the sensor;center computer explain the meaning of pulse signal, which not only save the system terminal hardware resources, at the same time,the using efficiency of the center computer enhanced.(3)On the basis of analyzing chip characteristic of the hardware, use 51 serial MCU STC89C58s and WaveCom Company Q2403A modules to realize the function of carrying on that hydrology information based on GPRS,To the limited resources shortcoming of 51 MCU, have inlaid simplified TCP/IP protocol and PPP dialing procedure in STC89C58,Make the terminal system not need the computer to support, can join GPRS network automatically after starting the machine.(4)Use Delphi language to construct the the workbench of hydrology data collection and dealt , Centre software fetch and processing the data according to UDP data form, realizing the function of receiving, memory, pulse factor establishment and site establishment etc..(5)System uses GPRS as the transmission of hydrological information collection, saving the cost and improveing stability of the system. System pay the bill according to the traffic flow, the system is reliable and low cost. MCU and GPRS module integration and Small-oriented design, circuit will be further reduced, it could be embedded in automation hydrological equipment.
