With the rapid development of national economy and the rising levels of industrialization,climate change and environmental problems become increasingly prominent, the nationalgovernment also pay more attention to the meteorological services and environmentalmonitoring business, and our environment monitoring systems are mainly based on artificialor wired collection, which limited the application occasions to a large extent for the badeffectiveness and real-time feature.Based on a series of research for the GPRS communication technology and sensors ofmeteorological elements, this paper presents a low-power-consumption and point tomultipoint meteorological data collection and transmission system based on GPRS remotecommunication. The overall architecture of the system is composed of three parts: datacollection, remote transmission and storage process. Data collection portion was based onsingle chip STC12C5A60S2, peripheral sensors collect environmental wind direction, windspeed, temperature, humidity, light and pressure data, according to the design ideas tocomplete the design of hardware circuit, including the main controlling circuit, the powersupply circuit, the signal collection and communication circuit. Remote transmission portionis composed of client terminal and server, the transport terminal which is programmed underARM9establishes GPRS and Internet network connection to the server by using wirelessnetwork router and Socket. Storage processing section is designed based on PostgreSQL andJAVA, which has the function of real-time data view, historical data query and GUIimplementation ect.The design of the system software is divided into four major program: the data collectionsoftware design, remote communication client software design, remote communication serversoftware design, interactive graphics software design.For the objective needs, This subject achieved the automatic collection, transmission andmonitoring of meteorological information. The system has the advantages of low cost, lowpower consumption, easy to implement and excellent expansibility, and has broad applicationprospects in meteorological monitoring industry.
