With the development of the geospatial information technology and the great demands of information which people need both in the daily life and in the work, the research and the construction of the digital city and the digital campus have caught different departments' attention. Recently, in order to make the digital campus to approach the effect of real campus as much as possible, the Virtual Reality has gradually went into the research scope of the digital campus.The appearance of the latest Earth Issue Platform------Google Earth has deeply influenced thedevelopment of GIS. With the issue of the Google map platform, KML language, a new sign language, has been used widely in the field of signing the geographic information. Using KML language can describe the geographic information, such as point, line and plane and can be revealed in the Google Earth client.Google Earth does not only support the map issue of two-dimensional plane, more importantly, but also support the representation of the three-dimensional objects. On the base of Google Earth's three-dimensional representation and using SketchUp, a three-dimensional construction software, we can complete the model of earth matters. And then lead the model into Google Earth to(?)sort the information with the purpose of represent the inventive real scene. This thesis will use the technologies mentioned above in the construction of the digital campus to approach a new three-dimensional construction of digital campusFirst, this thesis elaborates the concepts of digital campus, invention reality and their applications and development. It also analyzes the problems existed in the current research of digital campus. The result is that in order to break the traditional representation of the two-dimensional campus plane, we should lead invention reality technology in the construction of digital campus.Second, this thesis introduces the three-dimensional invention reality map issue platform------Google Earth. And it analyzes and researches relatively deeply KML language which is the key technology of achieving the map issue in Google Earth, and at the same time gives some examples according to different conditions.. Third, this thesis discusses the technology of constructing models both in the inventive and realworld, and mainly discusses the construction model software-----Sketch Up. This thesisdiscusses and researches deeply the principles and methods of constructing models and the principles and methods of painting from the three-dimensional plane. And it discusses several methods of how to lead the three-dimensional geographic matters into Google Earth.Fourth, this thesis completes the digital campus of Lanzhou University. It mainly introduces the whole designing thought and completing methods. We can check every matter in the campus on the web, and at the same time skim three-dimensional matters through Google earth Map Issue Platform which is opened by the inventive showing choices.Because of adding the KML language into the checking system, we can find the exact place of the objects in Google checking system. This research develops the checking system platform by using ASP.NET, organizes the data by using Microsoft SQL Server Data Base, constructing the, three-dimensional geographic matters by using SketchUp, and issuing the three-dimensional map through Google Earth Map Issue Platform. And finally it achieves the expecting functions.It is proven that digital campus which is added the invention reality technology has made the digital campus's reality and the functions developed greatly. And at the same time using Google Earth Map Issue Platform and KML language in constructing the digital campus will promote the development of digital campus and digital city.
