Geological structure is an important factor that influences the survival and development of humankind. Fault is obvious displacement structure caused by fracture of rock formation or rock mass. Fault becomes one of the most important crustal structures as it develops extensively in terrestrial crust. In some areas, fault is their tectonic framework for most of the time. Part of the regional mega faults control and influence not only geological structure and its development in some regions but also its mineralization, which sets as background to form regional metallogenetic belt. Some minor faults directly determine the structure and the occurrence of certain ore body, having great effect on the distribution, reservation and migration of some mineral resources such as petroleum, natural gas and underground water. Faults, especially modern active faults can even influence marine engineering construction. Therefore, the investigation into fault is of great significance in both theory and practice.Based on several seismic prospecting results in offshore Fujian province in 2006, combining with historical sediment data collected in this area, this paper aims at discussing the distribution characteristics of submarine offset structure in East Fujian coast area. It can be inferred that the recent active period in this area would be during late Miocene and early Pliocene. Moreover, assisted with remote sensoring satellite photos, this paper tries to analyze the relationship between costal linear structure and offshore fracture. By using space remote sensoring technology and satellite photos, people can widen the observation and deepen the understanding of geological structure, which makes up for the limitness of field geological observation. Besides7 the application of geophysical exploration and drilling technology supplies important proof for Understanding submarine offset structure and scale in this survey. It comes to the conclusion. that the fracture has spread in large scale.
