The geological data has the characteristics of great variety, huge quantity, and complex data format. How to organize and manage the data is an issue that the geologists and the researchers concern about. A good geological data organization and management model, and its appropriate physical implement method is the key of why geological data can be maintained for a long time, developed reasonable, and be used effectively.The thesis uses linear classification method, classifies the general geological data according to one kind of new classification thought, establishes a classification system of general geological data, through the analysis of the system's structure, the geological data's characteristics and relationships among them, and the geological data's elementary operation, proposes a model which on conception level describes the geological data's organization and management - general geological data model. This model is composed together by the static structure which describes the geological data's characteristics and relationships among them and the dynamic operation based on the geological dataBased on the general geological data model, used the relational database technology, the thesis has established a general geological database ( GeoDB ) , and developed a general geology database management system (GeoDBMS), which realizes the computer information management and digitized storeing of the geological data , guarantees that the geological mine enterprises can develop the geological data's reasonably, and make use of it effectively as well as maintain it for a long time.Through analyzing the static structure and the dynamic operation of the general geological data model, the thesis develops an exporting and importing system of the general geological data, which is a useful tool for geologists to warehouse the geological data, and to extract the special topic geological data, and to backup and restore the geological data. And based on this, the thesis established a geological primary data warehousing flow, which could import the paper geological primary data systematically, batch and automatically into the synthesis geological database.At the same time, through mechanisms of user Identification & Authentication, access control as well as audit trail and so on, the thesis has together realized the security of the General geology database in the application procedure level, and has guaranteed the safety handling of the geological data. Especially, the thesis has introduced the role based access control thought (RBAC) into the access control mechanism, which regards the General geological data tree (the static structure of the General geological data model) node as the basic access controlled member, causes access and control geological data to conform to the customs of the geology Minerals corp.'s Internal organization and management, raises the efficiency of the privileges management, and refines the authorization granularity.In summary, the research of the general geological data model and the development of the gelogical database management system are foundations of the mine information construction, and is a beneficial exploration and the practice to establishe the digital mine.
