The Synthetical Geological Database Management System (GeoDBMS) is the foundation of the informational construction of mineral resources. And the development technology of synthetical geological database application system is the basis of developing the GeoDBMS. Combining with scientific research project of "Distributed Data Management System Development for Mineral Resources" made by the Institute of Geological Survey of Shanxi Province. This paper researched a series of key technology about the development of synthetical geological database application system based on the analysis of geological data characteristics and the demand for geological application. This paper also put forward the framework to integrate these technologies together and ideas of realization, which provide a strong technical support for the successful development of the synthetical geological database application system.Firstly, this paper analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of synthetical geological data model which is used in the synthetical geological database before.Then according to geological thematic applications, this paper constructed the extended model of the geological data tree by extending the basic type of data elements for integrated geological data model. Moreover, it also analyzed the model from the perspective of the static and the dynamic structure, and pointed out the implementation methods in two patterns(C/S and B/S).Secondly, in accordance with actual situation that geological attributed data has a great deal of spatial information, this paper introduced the elements generation technology of geological attributed data with spatial information and the template-based drilling histogram generation technology which can be customized to. In addition to, from the geological application point of view, the paper analyzed the differences between geological spatial data query and traditional GIS queries, and put forward the directory queries of geological spatial data based on MapGIS.Thirdly, in the aspect of the Web application of the synthetical geological database application system, this paper developed the geological spatial data volume distribution technology which is the foundation to achieve geological application of WebGIS on the basis of MapGIS K9. Combining with the strongpoints of both the rich client technology and WebGIS, this paper also developed WebGIS technology of the geological spatial data under the Flex framework.Finally, from the view of technology integration, this paper gave the key technology integration framework of synthetical geological database application system. The framework provided the support for the communication and interaction of the various technologies in the synthetical geological database application system. And then this paper designed the connectors and classes of each part in the framework in detail by adopting the object-oriented thought. Those connectors and classes expressed by UML language can be directly converted to various functional modules and components of the synthetical geological database application system.
