The study on remaining oil distribution rule is not only a worldwide problem but also a frontier task in fields of geology, physics of the Earth, reservoir engineering and so on. It's the base of comprehensively adjusting oil field, improving current status of exploitation and enhancing oil recovery, which is the important criterion for reservoir engineers to make a strategic decision. Overviewing the advanced research of remaining oil distribution rule in correlative subjects, it should be the inexorable trend to apply geology, seismic, well drilling, well logging, coring, assaying and reservoir dynamic data comprehensively to study the remaining oil distribution rule in extra-high water cut stage in view of development geology and reservoir engineering.Taking Shen84-An12 block in LiaoHe oilfield as an example, based on the fine reservoir description, this paper subdivides development phase and each production characteristic, evaluates waterflooding development effect, analyzes comprehensive adjustment effect over the years, generalizes essential features of o/w movement and dominant influential factors of waterflooding development. After that, applying reservoir performance analysis,φfunction for estimating distribution of remaining oil saturation in water drive reservoir and geophysical logging comprehensively to study remaining oil distribution rule qualitatively and quantitatively. The results indicate the potential region where remaining oil is enriching and sum up the leading influential factors of remaining oil distribution. Finally, aiming at the chief problems of oilfield development at present, it proposes the reasonable and concrete adjustment opinions. This paper puts forward the development geology and reservoir engineering comprehensive method for remaining oil distribution rule in extra-high water cut stage, which combines"static geology"and"dynamic development"perfectly. The outcomes of this paper provides the practical experience and theoretical reference for developing heterogeneous -multilayer sand reservoir and studying remaining oil distribution rule in extra-high water cut stage.
