With the development of remote sensing technique and network communication technology, obtaining the spatial data becomes easy increasingly. In the face of the huge volume of the spatial data and the various spatial data types and the extremely complicated spatial data, it becomes a hotspot and emphasis in Geography Information System(GIS) that how the spatial data is collected, organized, stored, transmited and managed. The spatial data model describes the spatial entities and the spatial relation each other in real world, and provides theoretical basis for the spatial data organization, the spatial data storage, the spatial data management and the spatial database model design.therefore, the research on the spatial data modeling method and the spatial database model design becomes an important subject of GIS in geosciences.The status of the spatial data model, the spatial data organization and the spatial data modeling method is researched deeply, founding the hypergraph model is quite effective on the abstract organizations of the spatial data in conceptual level. but there isn't scientific method of integrity and high efficiency in the process of converting from the conceptual model to the logic model and the physical implementation.So, taking fully advantage of the predominance of the hypergraph model in the process of the abstract organizations about the spatial data and the predominance of the Geodatabase model in the process of the storage and the management about the spatial data, the spatial data modeling method based on Geodatabase is proposed,combining the hypergraph model and the geodatabase model, using the hypergraph model to establish the conceptual model, and converting from the conceptual model to the logic model by the expansion of the Geodatabase. At the same time, according to the requirements of the application of the virtual environment route selection system, the data types of the distinct terrain characteristic about highway route selection is analysed further. using the CASE tools and the middle documents and the data modeling methods based on Geodatabase, the highway route selection spatial database based Geodatabase is created automatically. The implementation of the modeling mothed not only verifies integrity and high efficiency and scientificity about the modeling mothed, but also lays a solid foundation for the spatial data mining algorithms of the highway route selection based on spatial database and VERSS.
