Geology and mineral resources are the material foundation of human and social development. Geological resources are non-renewable and non-uniformly distributed. The supply of China's mineral resources becomes harder and harder due to the consumption of mineral resources and the increasing difficulty of ore exploration. Therefore, acquisition, storage management and efficient application of the multi-source geology data and mineral resources are obviously important. In this paper, the key theories and technologies of the multi-source geological spatial database were systematically studied.In this paper, the key theories and technologies of spatial database were firstly analyzed. Then, the geographic data model of Geodatabase and the spatial database engine technology of ArcSDE were mainly analyzed. The database model and system framework for the multi-source geological spatial data storage and management system were designed, based on the characteristics of spatial data of geology and the requirements for practical application. The database system is based on the Geodatabase model, using Oracle 10g as the database supporting platform, using ArcSDE as a management tool for the organization of the spatial database. It concretely achieved some functions, such as storage of multi-source geological spatial data, spatial analysis, three-dimensional analysis, map symbols, and map output. Finally, the application of multi-source spatial database of geological storage and management system was displayed, as an example of the metallogenic belt on the Eastern Kunlun Mountains in Qinghai province. These achievements provided the basic platform for the ore exploration, to all organization of geology and mineral resource, which is helpful for cutting the cost of ore exploration, and improving the efficiency and accuracy of ore exploration.
