Design And Implement Of Spatial Database System Based On Geodatabase

Information have to be a kind of most important resources in the information society. It is also a important factor of ensuring the development of our society and national economy. The geography information, as the spatial information, is necessary for the developing of our economy and is more and more important. The geography information can't satisfy the applications in the every walk of life at the present time. So, the building of spatial database is a fundamental measure to solve the problem. Spatial database has the basic connotation of general database, it was a sorted marshal of data sets, which have a lot of records having the same character. Spatial database was managed by Relational Data Base Management System(RDBMS) . And it is a fundamental condition of constructing "Digital Region" .The storage and management of spatial data is the foundation of the building of spatial database. So, Studying a more advanced geography data model will be the development trend of Geography Information System. A advanced geography data model should have the characters of truly reflecting the world , having intelligence and managing spatial data by high efficiency. There are three generation spatial data models: the CAD model , the Coverage model, as well as the third model of Geodatabase which was entirely based on Object- Relational Data Base Management System. The merits of each spatial data model comparing with the prior model wholly embody these aspects. Moreover, the technological progress of computer, especially the development of Object-Oriented Method and Relational Data Base Management System, offer the realizing possibility of spatial data model on the technology, which can reflect the true world. The spatial data model of Geodatabase has been adopted in the Changsha Spatial Database Managing System. The Geodatabase model make the seamless integration of the spatial data and attribute data come true, and it represents the developing direction of Geography Information System.In this paper, the researching and developing actuality of spatial database technology was introduced firstly. At the second, it gives the particular description about the Geodatabase model. Finally, combining with the building of Changsha Spatial Database Managing System, this thesis describes database design and function design of Spatial Database System. Via discussing something, this paper gives one a thought of building a city's even a province's Spatial Database System.
