| With the development of computer technology and remote sensing, there are more and more availabilities of gaining more and cheaper data, so the remote sensing data volume is mass. How to inquiry and get the useful one from the mass remote sensing data is an important problem to be solved. This thesis gives a solution that is image database which not only is faster and more convenient for data management but also provides a safe access to data for different kinds of users.This thesis firstly introduces the research status and achievements of image database home and abroad, analyzes the existing problems and explains the study significance. After the introduction of related concepts and development of database and image database, the key techniques about image database are raised, and the advantages of IDL applied in image database are also mentioned. Then the thesis discusses the storage structure and data model of remote sensing images, and proposes a reasonable plan. Considering the study of database engine of remote sensing images and the data characteristics of remote sensing images as well as the needs of users, the author designs the structure and model of database engine of remote sensing images. At last, after a discussion of system design, framework design and the flow of building database, the author develops a database of remote sensing images based on IDL, proving the feasibility of managing remote sensing images with the model and system structure mentioned. |
