Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite navigation and positioning system with high accuracy developed by U.S.A, this thesis describes the characteristic of the GPS signal data, based on GPS receiver working in high dynamic. Based on analysis of the system architecture, priciples and signal characteristics of GPS, author focuses on the acquisition and tracking of C/A code and carrier. The main jobs in this paper include these following aspects:1. Because of the characteristic of the signal in high dynamic, author analysises the theories of GPS signal acquisition algorithm and proposes a method in high dynamic, the method is based on FFT. And the arithmetics are designed on the base of Matlab simulation models.2. Introduce the code tracking and carrier tracking method in detail. A DLL for code tracking and a carrier tracking scheme are deduced. The carrier tracking loop is composed of a CPAFC and a Costas loop. Then the performance is simulated by Matlab.3. Based on the analysis above, FPGA design and its function simulation of some kernel units in baseband processing block have been achieved.
