Research Of Police Geographic Information System Base On ArcGIS

Human race has totally entered the Information Age in 21st century and the fast development of Information Technology is influencing and changing people's way of living and working deeply. In the mean time, with the rapid growth of domestic economy, social crimes are presenting features such as application of high-tech, invisibility, network using, regional cooperation, etc, bringing severe challenges into the field of social public security. In the domestic public security area, the police departments are now promoting the strategy of "Intesifying the police by technology", adopting various information technologies including Geographic Information Technologies to build an advanced social public security system which aims to enhance the information system construction of police affairs, preventing and eliminating all kinds of crimes effectively with technical methods under the circumstances of limited police power.With Geographic Information System turning into the developing direction towards network, mass information and distributive way, its application areas has covered almost every industry. In the information system construction of police affairs, Geographic Information Technologies has already become one of the kernel technologies which support the public security information construction.Police Geographic Information System is an assisting analytical, decision-making, commanding and deploying system using unique space analytical function and powerful visual expressing ability provided by Geographic Information System Technologies, combining police information data and space information together and analyzing internal connections, distributing and dispatching resources properly through monitoring spatial distribution and real-time operation of all kinds of elements in police affairs so that fast reacting and cooperating abilities among relevant police departments will be improved.In this paper, the situation of Police Geographic Information System was analyzed in terms of practical business requirements and a set of Police Command System was designed and developed through the component module of GIS developer tools. The system realized a series of system functions such as the basic operation of the map, the management and exercise of the pre/plan, the visualization of the command, etc. The study of the paper has done some beneficial exploration for developing Police Geographic Information System based on ArcGIS especially the designing and realization of the visualized pre/plan management sub-system.
