Coal and gas outburst accident is very serious harm during production process at Hebi serious outburst mine. According to statistics, Hebi serious outburst mine occurred in 52 cases about coal and gas outburst accident from the construction of mine to the current, resulting in a large number of casualties and property losses. Therefore, effective prediction and prevention is an important technical means to coal and gas outburst, it can protect the outburst mine safety in production and enhance its economic, and studying and determining a reliable gas content critical value of the least outburst depth is to outburst prediction and evaluation of anti-Outburst. Papers in order to Hebi serious outburst mine as a research base, through the historical data collection, outburst accident analysis, on-site follow-up investigations and laboratory experiments, to investigate and determine gas content critical value of the least outburst depth at Hebi serious outburst mine. Emphasis from the following four research areas: Collecting and collating gas content during the geological survey in the area, during the production testing and calculated using gas pressure, to a comprehensive analysis the law of gas occurrence and the factors of the gas occurrence in the area; Through statistical analysis outburst accident of Hebi serious outburst mine, to summariz the characteristics of outburst accident and the factors of affect outburst accident; Through to collect and collate the data about verification indicators and gas emission rate on the follow-up investigations working face, and to add the test about gas content on the follow-up investigations working face, and then to study the gas content on the least outburst depth; In the laboratory, through the adsorption-desorption experiments to study the relationship between the gas pressure, gas content and gas desorption index, further to investigate the gas content on the least outburst depth. Through these four in-depth research, final inspection to determine gas content critical value of 9 m3/t on the least outburst depth, and the results are reliable by industrial tests on mine.
