Along With the popularity and development of electronic product,electromagnetic radiation is harming people's health,electromagnetic radiation is bad for people's nervous system, immune system, circulatory system and reproductive system.Decreasing the EMR intensity, preventing EMR pollution,protecting the environment and protecting public health have been listed in the pressing agenda World Health Organization and many countries including China,so developing electromagnetic shielding fabrics is greatly significant and has a profound influence.In this paper, the performance and dyeing and finishing technology of electromagnetic shielding fabrics with stainless steel wire are studied.First,the surface topography, chemical composition,mechanical property and resistivity of stainless steel wire with different diameters and different models are studied and the best stainless steel wire is used to spun.Then 18.2tex cotton core-spun yarns involving a core of 1828μm stainless steel filament is designed and the surface topography,irregularity mechanical property and resistivity of stainless steel filament cotton core-spun yarns and stainless steel fiber cotton blended yarns are studied,and optimize the best yarn materials by comparison.Second,different specifications of fabrics with stainless steel wire are designed and the effect of diameter and content of stainless steel filament,weave construction, yarn structure,distribution mode of stainless steel filament and tightness of fabric on electromagnetic shielding performance,mechanical property,stiffness and recovery from creasing are studied.Last,the dyeing and finishing technology of cotton fabric with stainless steel filament such as chemical resistance and thermal resistance of stainless steel filament, preliminary treatment technology, dyeing property and thermal property of fabric are researched, and EMSE fore and aft dyeing and finishing treatment are compared.The results show:Used as textile fiber,316L stainless steel fiber is better than 304 stainless steel fiber,so the 316L stainless steel fiber is used for spinning.The resistivity of stainless steel fiber cotton blended yarn is not as good as the resistivity of stainless steel filament cotton core-spun yarn,furthermore, stainless steel fibers in the blended yarn are exposed and will affects human's tactility.So stainless steel filament cotton core-spun yarn is used for fabric manufacture.When warp yarns and two kinds of weft yarns'ratio are same in two fabrics,the bigger dimension of stainless steel filament in stainless steel filament cotton core-spun yarn,the bigger electromagnetic shielding effectiveness,and bending rigidity,but the worse recovery from creasing.Take all these performance into consideration,the cotton core-spun yarns involving a core of 1828μm stainless steel filament is used for fabric material.The more stainless steel fibers in the fabric,the bigger electromagnetic shielding effectiveness ,when the content of stainless steel filament is 15%,the fabric can shield 98% EMR. When the content of stainless steel filament are equal,plain weave fabric has better electromagnetic shielding effectiveness than twill weave fabric,fabric of both the warp and weft yarns have stainless steel filament has better electromagnetic shielding effectiveness comparing to only warp yarns have stainless steel filament, the bigger tightness of fabric,the bigger electromagnetic shielding effectiveness.When other factors are the same,fabric with stainless steel filament cotton core-spun yarns has better electromagnetic shielding effectiveness comparing to stainless steel fiber cotton blended yarns.The content of stainless steel filament is the main factor to influence fabric's breaking strength, bending rigidity, crease recovery, ith the increasing of the content of stainless steel filaments, the breaking strength is increasing,but the fabric gets stiffer and its crease recovery gets worse.Weave construction affects mainly fabric's breaking elongation and resiliency rate, plain weave fabric'breaking elongation and resiliency rate are bigger than twill weave fabric.The electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the fabric which have 15% stainless steel filament, 32 yarns in the warp per centimeter and 22 yarns in the weft per centimeter,2/1 twill weave is 17dB,and this fabric also have good flexibility,wrinkle resistance and mechanical property.The stainless steel filament possesses good thermo-stability,alkali stability,H2O2 stability and HNO3 stability,but Cl-1 have a serious corrosive influence on stainless steel filament.Cotton fabric with stainless steel filament can reach good whiteness and capillary effect by preliminary treatment and the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness will increase slightly.In order to avoid creasing and turning edge,the cotton fabric with stainless steel filament should adopt cold pad-batch pretreatment.There is a big difference in K/S values and hue between cotton fabric with stainless steel filament and cotton fabric bye dyeing. After dry heating treatment,the shielding effectiveness of cotton fabric with stainless steel filament changes small and the dimension stability gets better while the fabric's stiffness gets bigger and strength gets decreasing.So the temperature of dry heating treatment may be set at 160℃.
