Glass-fiber reinforced glass (GRG) composites are a new low-cost, efficient use of composite materials. In this paper, according to a reasonable fiber/matrix matching principle, the "sandwich" structure method was used to fabric GRG composites by means of high modulus, high strength, thermal stability and the appropriate coefficient of thermal expansion characteristics of glass fibers and a good overall performance as matrix. And glass fiber reinforced glass composite of the performance of research and analysis.Heat treatment of samples (including heating temperature, heating/cooling rate, holding time) were optimized to determine the 90℃/h heating rate to range of 750℃to 775℃, and the holding time in this range was set for 2.5 hours, and finally, controlled the cooling rate at 30-40℃/h.The density, bending strength, thermal shock residual strength and thermal expansion coefficient of various samples with glass-fiber content of 20%,50% and 80% were tested and analyzed. It is indicated that with the increasing of fiber content in composite materials, the density of the sample decreased. The composites with 50% fiber volume fraction of glass-fibers contain higher flexural strength and better toughness according to the "force - displacement curve". In addition, the property of thermal shock resistance of GRGs compared to the original material has significantly improved. The sample with 20% volume fraction of glass-fiber still processes 37.5% residual strength of the original after 30 thermal cycles, which shows the best thermal shock resistance among the three kinds of the samples. The affection of thermal cycling on the GRG composites mechanical properties are still produced a greater negative impact. Despite the influence of the volume fraction of glass fiber, the material's density, CTE(Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) and the thickness have some effects on the thermal resistance of the composites.
