Based on the atmosphere detection data of Fuzhou urban district from year 1996 to 2000, this article analyzes such characteristics as regional distribution, seasonal distribution and yearly changes of the urban air pollutant, and clarifies primary reasons for urban air pollution. Meanwhile, this article evaluates the quality of urban air condition through air pollution index, and oversees the changing trend of urban air condition and quality by using rule of three and experience formula. The research shows that: Among the urban air pollutant of Fuzhou urban district, dust and SO2 pollution is being reduced year after year, while dust pollutant, especially dust fall pollution is still serious; Nitrogen oxide has become the most extrusive pollutant in the air, which has great effect on the urban air quality; The urban air pollution is changing from 搒moke pollution?to 搒moke and tail gas of motor vehicle pollution? The control of NOx and TSP deserves more attention. Finally, the article puts forward its countermeasures for control from such aspects as industry development, industry layout, energy resources structure, project father, tail gas control, foundation establishment, enforcement of law for environment, investment of environment and propaganda and education.
