Environmental endocrine disrupters (EEDs), also called environmental hormone, are certain chemicals in environment that may modify the normal functioning of human and wildlife endocrine, or hormone, systems and cause developmental, behavioral, and reproductive problems. There is worldwide concern regarding environmental exposure to many common pesticides, industrial chemicals and drugs thought to be possible endocrine disrupters. The most references in the world are based on the research results of world wildlife foundation (WWF). In 1997, WWF have listed sixty-eight kinds of EEDs, which are mainly used to produce pesticide, herbicide, dyestuff, spice, dope, scour, eradicator, surface active agent, raw material or additive of plastic product, drug, additive of food, cosmetic and etc.; there are also naturally synthetical hormone drugs, such as E3, El, DES, E2, which are used for drug or the additive of feedstuff; in addition, include plant hormone from vegetable like bean, cabbage, celery and etc.The analysis of EEDs in environmental matrices (e.g., water, air, soil, wastes, and biota including both plants and animals) is critical to future regulatory monitoring them as well as an understanding of their distribution, transport and migration within the environment, and their ultimate degradation. Because of the diversity of species, the complexity of physical and chemical character and the minim content in the environment, it has to set up diverse analysis methods to detect different chemicals; in view of the minim concentration of those chemicals, the method must achieve favorable sensitivity, and the quantity of sample must be large, it also need manipulation process such as concentration, clean and etc.Solid phase extraction (SPE) is a new developed sample pretreated technology that arises at the beginning of 70s; it is a method combinative of clean and enrichment, especially suitable for the water sample. According to the stat, now the pretreatment of more than fifty percents environmental samples use SPE method, and SPE will replace LSE and become the principal method for pretreatment of water sample. This paper discusses the SPE used to enrichment the EEDs of the industrial waste and urban sewage. We selected eleven representational endocrine disrupters as the research objects, set up a suit of analysis methods for the EEDs and established a process chart for enrich a series of EEDs which have different polarity using SPE cartridge, and compared the factors that may impact SPE. Finally we selected the suitable SPE cartridge for EEDs and established the optimized SPE condition for the studied EEDs. then determined the collected samples from sewage plant. After the comparison of the recovery of several EEDs which have different polarity and chemical character by using several diverse SPE cartridge(C 18, C8, Ph, HLB), chose to use Agilent ZOXBAX SPE CIS cartridge as the SPE cartridge for the enrichment of OCPs like Hexachlorobenzene, Heptachlor epoxide and Aldrin, use Waters OASISSHLB cartridge as the SPE cartridge for the enrichment of phthalates, Bisphenol A. 2,4-dichlorophenol and Nonyl phenyl. Use 3ml methanol and 3ml distilled water to activate CIS cartridge. 3ml 10% methanol/ether, 3ml methanol and 3ml distilled water to activate HLB cartridge. Before sample loading adjust pH of the sample to 3, the flow rate of sample loading is 5ml/min. We select 2*3ml 10% methanol/ether as the elution solvent for phthalates, Bisphenol A, 2,4-dichlorophenol and Nonyl phenyl, 3ml acetone and 3ml dichloromethane as the elution solvent for Hexachlorobenzene, Heptachlor epoxide and Aldrin. After elution the solvent has to dry by the dehydration of waterless sodium sulfate, then blow to dry using high purely nitrogen, reconstitute to certain volume with appropriate solvent. We carry some performance experiment on the studied SPE cartridge such as comparison of the methods and throughput capacity. Finally we practically determine the concentration of EEDs of the input waste water and output waster water from a...
