Water pollution is a nationwide problem in china. Urban rivers are more severe in arid area. Yu-men river is located in Taiyuan and the runoff is small. Industrial wastewater and domestic effluent flow unceasingly as a result the water quality of Yu-men River is worse and worse. To harness and administer the kind of urban river has become an environmental problem of interest to city dwellers. The research on the quality of the river and migratory principle of contaminants in the river will develop reasonable cognition of river and provide theoretical reference for the prevention of river pollution.Through the water analysis of Yu-men River, the study drew that the water quality had been severely polluted at all monitoring stations. The phenomenon of water blackening and smell and the organic pollution were serious.This paper studied the feature of water quality and Yu-men river water quality.model, was put forward. Lastly, a planning scheme of water pollution control was completed.
