With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, the preventation of water pollution has become a hot issue, especially for the Haihe River Basin. Pretction the sustainable usage of water resource in Haihe River Basin is of great importance by exploring new ideas and methods to solve the pollution problem. Basing on the "12th Five-Year Planning for Water Pollution Control of Haihe River Basin in DaTong", this study analysis the pollution status and the evolution trend of Datong Haihe River Basin. Moreover, abatement measurments for water pollution was proposed to give a scientific supporting for planning composing. The basic data of Datong Haihe River Basin Water from2006to2010was got through field research. The amount of water pollution (exclude for industrial effluent) was decrased during the "Eleventh Five-Year" period by regression analysis; the growing factor for each predictor was determined up to2020basing on the aim set in various types of planning; in order to predict the amount of waste water emission during the "12th five-Year" period, annual emission of waste water up to2020was clarified by Leap model in Datong province; establish the abasement goal for each pollutant basing on the water capacity in Datong province; finally, the main tasks and construction project was proposed for water pollution controlling in Datong.Total amount of pollutants discharge is in a steady increase trends in Datong during2011to2020. Industrial pollution sources, domestic pollution sources and livestock pollution sources give the main contribution to of COD and NH3-N. The amount of COD discharge is keeping above on40%in livestock, making it as the major contribution for COD. The emission sharing of NH3-N was researched to30%by the three aforementioned pollution sources. Finally, two projects for pollutants abasement was determined according to the various fators including the emission contribution rate and the location for each pollutant source, the distribution of emission outfall, and the environmental capacity for river, etc. However, with the regard to the neglection on farming, there might be deviation for livestock pollution estimation. Consiquently, total amount for pollutants emission and water input needs further investigation.
