In order to improve cutting ability of Titanium cermet tool, this thesis researches on the method of adding nano-TiN grain into Titanium cermet for the purpose of thinning and homogenizing crystalloid grain of Titanium cermet so that the strength ,hardness,and toughness of the material are ameliorated. Then the friction coefficient of titanium cermet and YT15 are tested and the wearing properties of titanium cermet tool modified by nano-TiN is analyzed basing on the consideraton of the basic theory of the cutting process.Only considering the change of single factor,this paper establishes the Taylor formula expressing the relation between tool life of titanium cermet tool modified by nano- TiN and cutting parameters through a large number of cutting experiments. In the meanwhile, the author analyze the effect of geometrical and cutting parameters on tool life. Wear mechanism of titanium cermet tool modified by nano-TiN during cutting steel 45 is discussed on the basis of wear configuration and characteristic of the cutting tool during continuous cutting steel 45.At the end of the paper, the mathematical model of tool life of the cutting tool is established on the basis of orthotic experiments and regressing analysis. Geometrical and cutting parameters for titanium cermet tool modified by nano-tin are optimized so that a foundation of practical applications of materials of titanium cermet tool modified by nano-tin is laid .
