Coal is the number one in the energy source of our country, accounting for over seventy-two percent in one-off consumption structure of energy source. With the incessant penetration of the economic system reformation of our country, and with the continuous acceleration of modernization course, the production in coal mine will be bound to alter the tactics of persons at present, and show the modernization management and production technology to people. One of the key techniques of realizing the mine management and production modernization lies in the modernization of information management of mine. Coal ore-deposit is a geology entity distributing in the three dimensional geographic space, therefore, all of the production process of mine are relative to 3D space, and the main blueprint and technology data from resources exploration to the production in mine is for the sake of making sure the correct position of coal ore-deposit and parameters.Mine Information System is the application of Geographic Information System (for short GIS) in the mine, and is an important offset in GIS. There are two important kinds of special objects in Mine Information System, that is to say, digging roadway and stratum. Roadways are the thoroughfare that transport coal form the working face to ground, ventilate, and carry workers safely. As far as all the mines, roadways are the kernel parts. However, there are a few people make a research on the 3D problems of roadway. Therefore, there is bound to design special 3D data structure suiting the mine roadway.On the basis of analyzing the status quo and development trend of Three-Dimension Geographic Information System, the paper discusses 3D data model and data structure in detail, and combines the data characteristics of roadway, and then designs the 3D data model and data structure suiting the characteristics of the mine roadway.This paper designs a practical system of 3D roadway visualization under the platform of computer, which is based on the research and development of the project of GIS institute of Xi'an University of Science and Technology named Mine Information and Drawing System, and analyzes the operation principle of OpenGL at length, and makes a research on real expression of 3D roadway. The paper designs functional block diagram of the 3D drawing system of mine, and realizes the 3D imitating performance to roadway with OpenGL, which is based on the detailed analysis of the requirement of Mine Information System.
