Study On Antifatigue Functional Food Additive Derived From Insects, Fungi And Algae

The antifatigue function of more than forty kinds of insect,fungi,bacteria and algae was studied and sifted first in this study by detecting swimming endurance and biochemical indexes. Then,in order to choose the better ones from the compoud additives formulas composed of L-carnitine, taurine, octacosanol,vitaminE and insectA ,a cross design experiment was done. InsectA was discovered in the first experiment that it greatly improved the antifatigue function in mice. Finally, the acute toxicities, thirty-day feeding effects and the mechanisms of No. 1 antifatigue compoud additives(No.1ACF) were studied.The results were as follows: (1) Ant,insectA, male silk moth,bee pollen,silk wormpupa,lentinus edodes.white fungus,bacterium bifidums and lactobaccili could improve the swimming performance of mice.decrease the content of serum urea nitrogen(BUN) and blood lactic acid(P<0.01 or P<0.05).It can be considered that all of them can help mice resist fatigue according to relevant rules.(2) Four optimized formulas were obtained by using cross design method. All of them could improve the swimming performance of mice,decrease the content of BUN and blood lactic acid,increase the activity of lactic acid dehydrogenase(LDH) (P<0.01 or P<0.05).It can be considered that all of the four formulas can enhance antifatigue function according to relevant rules. (3) No.1 ACF(15g/kgBW) was sent into mice's stomach after being deprived of food for sixteen hours.During the seven days after being given the additive, no mouse was died and everything went well with the experimental mice except that they sleep more in four hours after being administered.Therefore LD50 of No. 1 ACF is higher than 15g/kg.It is one kind of nonpoisonous substance according to the gradingstandard of acute toxicity of chemical substance. (4) Having been fed with a diet containing No.1 ACF as high as 10% for thirty days, no abnormal condition was occured in the experimental mice. No pathology changes were observed in their livers,lungs,stomachs,intestines and hearts etc.,when they were dissected right after the feed period being over. The microstructure of liver, kidney, intestine, stomach and brain was in good condition. There were no pathology changes such as extravasated blood,cell necrosis and etc. The observation of supermicro structure of liver and kidney cortex through electron microscope showed that the shape of cells was normal,cell membranes were intact,the cellular fluid was well-distributed and its electron density was proper,the mitochondria and other cell organelles were all in good condition. Therefore the accumulative toxity of No.lACF was very low. (5) No.l ACF could increase indexes of thymus and spleen, the activity of SOD and GSH-Px,and decrease the content of MDA(P<0.01 or P<0.05).It increased the activity of LDH and decreased the content of BUN and blood lactic acid after swimming( P<0.05).Before and after swimming,it could increase glycogen content both in liver and muscle(P<0.05). All of the above suggests that No.lACF can improve the antifatigue function of mice through enhancing their anti-oxidation ability and immune function,influencing their storage and employment of energy substance and decreasing the deposit of metablic products in their bodies.
