Chlor-alkali industry is a basic chemical industry .Its products chlorine and caustic soda play significantly role in national economy. A main raw material in the chlor-alkali production is sodium chloride or salt which could be in the form of the solid and the liquid. Social benefits could be created by using more liquid salt in a richer brie area. However, whether using more the liquid salt in the production is more economic benfits to a enterprise? Is it possible in theory and feasible in implementation ?With the background of chlor-alkali production of Honghe Chemical Inc ,this paper is aimed at the problem that brine proportion is not high in the production under the co-exist of two caustic soda processes, which are diaphragm process and membrane one.Firstly, with technical and economic analysis, it found that increasing the amount of the liquid salt in the rich brine area could bring a considerable economic benefits to a enterprise. Then, the possibility of enhancing the brine proportion even using the entire brine in the soda processes was proven theoretically by establishing the mathematic models and resolving them.The paper proved the feasibility for increasing brine in the production according to the technical-economic analysis, and theoretical studies. On the basis of the above, we carried out the project, combined with the production practices of Honghe company. By the means of the strengthened management, technical innovation and improved process etc, the problems in management and technology were finally solved with enhancing the ratio of brine and better economic results to the company were achieved remarkably.The achievement of the study can provide an important experience and guidance to the technical innovation and the reform to similar other enterprises in China. Therefore, it is very important to use the advantage of rich brine source in China and to strengthen competing abilities of Chinese chlor-alkali enterprises.
