In the process of product manufacture, a sound tool selection and tool data management can greatly improve the efficiency and cut the cost of machining. With a view to the product manufacture realities in enterprises, the dissertation studies the method of machining feature extraction in Pro/E, realizes the intelligent tool selection based on machining feature, resolves the problems of tool data management.Chapter I introduces the research status of relative technology, expounds the research contents and presents the main framework of this paper.Chapter II analyzes the modeling feature in Pro/E, introduces the concept of machining feature, classes and describes the machining feature by using object-oriented method, expounds the method of machining feature extraction in Pro/E, constructs the data models of machining feature.Chapter III provides the representation of feature machining knowledge in production rule mode, constructs the knowledge base of feature machining with the acquired feature machining knowledge, which organizes and manages the knowledge effectively. Reasoning mechanism and process of machining tool are discussed in detail. Based on the constructed feature machining knowledge base, the intelligent selection of tool is realized by using the reasoning mechanism of feature machining knowledge.Chapter IV presents the relation data model of tool database based on the analysis of available tool data, constructs the database management system of tool. With the family table technology of Pro/E, the three-dimensional parameterized model is built by programming, and the dynamic display of the three-dimensional graphics of tool is realized.Chapter V introduces the three-tier C/S model of the system, the database selection and the communication between heterogeneous platforms, provides the system framework and the application examples.Finally, the research work of this dissertation is summarized, and the further way to develop the research topic is given.
