Muscovite is a kind of new natural inorganic material. In our country have abundant of resource. Muscovite has the excellent capability insulation. Those capabilities of muscovite cannot substitute by other mineral resource. At present, the domestic level of Muscovite processing is lower, the product mostly are primary or secondary products. With the development of material science those cannot satisfied with the quality requirement. As a functional material or filling are need higher content brightness narrowly particle size distribution and radius-thickness ratio.This paper had studied the muscovite resource of Xinjiang. This resource is ore dressing byproduct, the content of Muscovite about 85% and the content of Fe2O3 is high, about 3.99%. Study was made systematically and wet grinding, and classification, high gradient magnetic concentration, bleaching, obtained process condition and flowsheet.Studying showed by wet grinding and classification can obtain concentrate grade over 90%. Enriched ore with higher ratio to diameter to thickness is obtained by changing grinder type, medium and speed. Product brightness increases notably by grinding, acid treatment, brightness can reach 75%. Product granularity uniformity by classification, can obtain 10-35 m and 10-60 m classification product. By above experiments, process flow sheet was recommended. In the course of grinding, grinding medium action on muscovite are impacting, attrition and shearing. Using crushing roller mill can acquire product with higher radius-thickness ratio, over 60. and better luster. In this course muscovite is submitted to attrition and shearing and become size degradation.This paper studied systemically muscovite processing and surface modification, achieved good concentrate index, recommended reasonable process flow sheet, which will pay part in developing muscovite and economic development in local.
