In China most silicon steel, espacially GO and high grade NGO silicon steel is rolled by sendzimir mill, due to special processes and complicated multi-high structure of Sendzimir mill, great difficulties rise on the study of its shape problem, especially lacking knowledge of strip shape change during the rolling process; deformation of multi-roll system ; adjustment and control of strip shape principals.,As a result, during silicon producer's practical production, not only knowledge about reasons of resulted strip shape defaults is lacked, but also great blindness occurrs when adjusting different actuators for good strip shape, which lead to unsteadies of strip shape quality. In this article, strip shape change principals of Sendzimir Mill in the actual rolling process were found on the basis of spot testing and analyzing. At the same time, a multi-roll system deformation model was established. Sendzimir mill's control characteristics of strip shape was uncovered from analysis on deformation principals of its roll system under various work conditions. Achievements in this article can be concluded as follows:First, reasons that section crown of finished strip products is on the big side were confirmed through practical strip shape testing and analysis on Sendzimir mill, corresponding solutions were put forward as well. Machining and change principals of roll contour on Sendzimir mill were given ,which established the foundation of directing prodution and the later accurate modeling;Second, roll system deformation model of 20-high Sendzimir mill was developed based on.Elastic Girder theory using Dividing method to solve shape problem of multi-roll mill.Influences to strip shape of different shape actuators such as ASU adjustment, first intermidiate roll interpass shifting and original roll contour ,etc.were analyzed. Based on these, the shape control equations were developed;Third, through research on the relation between shape control and inter-roll pressure, original roll contours and shape control strategies were optimized ,which improved the shape control capacity of Sendzimir mill.The work in this article has theoretical significance on the reseach of simulation methods of multi-roll system deformation. The gained shape change, roll deformation and shape control principals have practical values to the oncoming reconstruction of Automatic Shape Control system.
