The efficiency of the cold-rolled strip greatly symbolizes the iron and steel industry's level of a country. As the economic development of our country, the requirements of high accuracy and ultra-thin strip steel become greater and the requirements of its quality become higher. The common 4- high mill or 6- high mill can no longer meet the demands of the desired products which only can be produced by multi-roll mill, among which the sendzimir twenty high rolling mills is most widely used. Under this situation, the design and research of sendzimir rolling mill is of great significance, meanwhile, the research of its rolls deformation and contact stress between the rolls is also of great significance both theoretical and practical.This thesis, based on the twenty-high mill in the steel rolling laboratory of Yanshan University and by consulting the relevant information, redesigns it by adding a radial and an axial adjusting device to it. A three-dimensional design of sendzimir twenty high rolling mill's main body, with a length of 412mm and the work roll diameter is 20mm, is accomplished by a three-dimensional design software Pro/ENGINEER. And made an intensity analysis and strength check of the mill stand and the rolls with the finite element method.The thesis also carried out three-dimensional plastic model on the design of mill, using the large-scale finite element software MSC.Marc to make an analysis of the mill's rolling process. The software MARC is applied to build finite element model of various strip width and different intermediate roll transverse shifting. According to the simulation's rolling process under different strip width, different intermediate roll transverse shifting and various AS-U-ROLL adjustment values and the analysis of the simulation result, makes a research of sendzimir twenty high rolling mill's changing regularity of roller gap, contact stress between the rolls, plate crown and roller's axial deflection under various control measures. This provides a theoretical guidance for the design and production of sendzimir roll in practice.
