Being the ecological environment barrier belt of Chengdu plain economic area-the most important economic development area in mid-western China, the quality of eco-environment geology in the upper reaches of Minjiang River is directly associated with the sustainable development in Chengdu plain economic area and hilly area of Sichuan Basin, Besides, exploitation and utilization of the various resources are badly needed in this area. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the current situation of eco-environment geology in the upper reaches of Minjiang River and assess its quality in order to put. scientific reference for land planning and reasonable utilization and macroscopical management of land resources.Assessing eco-environment geology is just in experimental stage and needs ceaseless exploration. It is difficult to select assessment factors form the complicated eco-environment geology system and assess its quality. Based on the actual situation in the upper reaches of Minjiang River, the main assessment factors such as strata structure, landform, vegetation covering eco-environment, surface water, ground water, agrotype and geological hazard are selected in this paper.Eco-environment geology system is complicated and its quality has some uncertainty to people's acquaintance. So based on the principles of fuzzy mathematics and using exact fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and grey correlative fuzzy evaluation, the quality of eco-environment geology in the upper reaches of Minjiang River is assessed in this paper. The results using two assessment methods are quantificationally similar and match actuality well. It is obvious that the choice of assessment factors and methods are credible and available for reference. Besides, the eco-environment quality in this area is divided into four regions and fifteen subregions.'The function of recovering and protecting vegetation in the eco-environment constrction is illustrated according to the actual situation in the upper reaches of Minjiang River. And it is pointed out in this paper that it is the best choice to take the pattern of exploying resources and protecting ecological environment simultaneously to ensure the sustainable development.
