Study on the Structure and Performance of the Bamboo FiberBamboo fiber has been concerned in many respects since coming out. And various reports on this kind of fiber have been reported. We take the bamboo fiber as the object of our study, and we carry out systemic and overall research on it, utilizing modern methods of testing. This paper mainly includes several parts as follows:First of all, we analyze the inner structure of the bamboo fiber using modern testing methods, such as X-ray diffraction and infrared spectrum. From the study, we find that as a new-style regenerated cellulose fiber, its basic structural parameters are similar to the ordinary viscose rayon, but there are different performances between them because of different making-craft and raw materials. We will discuss their performances in details in the paper.Secondly, on the base of learning the structure of the bamboo fiber, we research and analyze its main physical performance. From the result of our testing, we obtain systemic and comprehensive data on the bamboo fiber, so that we can provide basis for the following spinning process. We emphasize on the mechanics property and moisture absorption of the bamboo fiber. At the same time we also measure the density, electricity - performance, optics-performance and calorific of the bamboo fiber. Through the test we learn that the bamboo fiber show fine moisture absorption, and the speed of drying is a little higher than other regenerated fibers. This performance endows the bamboo fabrics with excellent comfortable performance, although some deficiencies affect the bamboo fiber' s application, such as the wet-intensity. Despite of this shortcoming we find that bamboo fiber is a kind of fine textile material by means of the grey clustering analysis.As a kind of new-type fiber material, it is very important that whether it has the extensive application prospect or not. When it is in accord with people's psychology, meet people's demands, it is promising. So we tested comfortable performance of fabrics, which are made with the bamboo fibers. Comparing with other kinds of fabrics in the end of this paper, we sum up: the bamboo garments have excellent damp and hot comfortable performance,especially in the high temperature. So it is more suitable for producing summer clothing. The development of bamboo apparel is in accord with modernists' choice for the clothing, which Accordingly prove that as a new-type fiber materials, the bamboo fiber will take on far-ranging prospect.From the research, we have found out the essential characteristics of the bamboo fiber. The purpose of our research is not only to know this kind of fiber, but also to get the performance parameter about this new-type fiber through this research. According to its strongpoint and defect and peculiar characteristics, we can offer support to the development of this kind of fiber product in theory. Hence at the end of the paper we put forward feasible proposal on the improvement of fiber production and product exploitation.
